UDD: Ranking Coaching Job in the SBC
If you haven't been keeping up with this series from Underdog Dynasty, it's actually really neat and gives some details about each school and why they're ranked the way they are. They have an article for each school. Here's the rankings:

(1) Arkansas State University - article has not been posted yet
(2) Georgia Southern Univeristy
(3) University of Louisiana
(4) Appalachian State University
(5) Troy University
(6) Texas State University
(7) Coastal Carolina University
(8) University of South Alabama
(9) Georgia State University
(10) University of Louisiana Monroe
(11) University of Idaho
(12) New Mexico State University

The Big 4 are all ranked in the top 4. No surprise. Also, its fair to give AState the #1 shot simply because of the sustained run of success despite coaching changes.

That being said, Georgia Southern and App don't seem as willing to hand over the title in recent as years as incarnations of teams Sun Belt pas have.

They start conference play in 2017 for football. Rest of the sports start July 1

I would bet if you check all of your Fall sports that have their schedules out, CCU is on there. I know they're on ours. (volleyball, soccer are out)

RE: UDD: Ranking Coaching Job in the SBC
"but remote part of North Carolina, and embrace being the perpetual underdog to schools like UNC, NCSU, and even ECU." - From the Appalachian State article.

I'm not sure that I understand the "even ECU" part of this considering the recent success of ECU, not compared to, but head to head against the ACC "powers". One could actually say that as far as football is concerned, ECU, objectively should be considered a better football program than UNC or NCSU at this point, though that seems likely to change with the knee-jerk firing of Ruffin after one season; the same season that Lincoln Riley left and the presumed started went down with an ACL tear before the season.

That said, Appalachian has had sustained success that three of the aforementioned schools have never experienced. A win against Tennessee or Miami would go a long way into inserting App into the conversation with UNC, NCSU, ECU, and even Duke (since Cutfcliffe arrived).

OT: Arkansas State is the number one school to coach for because if you win for one year you can leave and get your dream job.
