pretty much this ^^^^

2 is definitely a lock. Someone "could" get the auto-bid. 4 would take a miracle on ice moment like Houston winning out the rest of the season and losing in the AAC championships.

Win out and get to the Conference final to get a bid lmao, i think we can afford one more loss during conference play, and make it to the semi's and we will get a bid. The rpi would be at 38 at that point with wins over Smu, Memphis, Rhode Island, Vermont and our record would be 16-2 with Devin Davis in the line-up, i would have to think that the committee would look at that as well.

Get to AAC finals? I was looking at Houston and Memphis RPI rankings and they are not that good, I think Houston's was in the 60s and Memphis in the 80s. But in ESPN's BPI index, Houston was like 33, so that was good. Which indexes do the committee go by, and how likely are some of these other teams to get in if they continue to play well. We need to get at least 3 teams in.

The RPI is what the committee goes by. Not ESPN's made up BPI. The BPI was created by ESPN to prop up "power conference schools" and to give schools in other conferences bad rankings. No we won't get 4 in, but there's a chance that 3 could happen if the two locks (Cincinnati & SMU) slip in the AAC tournament. Memphis has been coming on strong. Houston may be the 4th best team in the conference, but 5-11 are really really bad this year.
Cheers!

Cincinnati is now the second #5 seed in bracket matrix. Doesn't seem like the Bearcats will be included in the Top 16 Show tomorrow. Sad.

Whether it's football or basketball, when Memphis and Houston get together, it's always a battle and usually very entertaining games, that in many cases have gone down to the wire. Memphis has already beaten Houston on Houston's home court. The Coog's come to Memphis on the 26th, should be a great game. Looking forward to it.

If either Memphis or Houston can finish in 3rd place and make it to the final of the conference tourney then they are in.

I kind of doubt that.

I think if a team outside of Cincinnati or SMU wants into the Big Dance, they'll have to win the Conference Tournament for the auto-bid.

Perhaps it's not impossible, but outside of that I think the AAC is a 2-bid conference.

A strong finish to the season could very well get them into the First Four. Not many saw Tulsa getting in last year.

houston would be projected in the 40's to end the regular season even if they lost to cincy (and beat everyone else)..and thats before the conference tourney rpi boost that might come from any wins

and the commitee is supposed to take into consideration injuries, devin davis was out for most of our losses (our only "true" big)...i doubt itll make that much of an impact but we are undefeated since he returned and 16-2 in games he played in..

houston isnt eliminated yet...the chances of us going 5-1/6-0 in our last 6 is whats unlikely (plays smu, uc and memphis who have already beat us once)..but we arent out just yet as an atlarge

SMU beating UC would be nice as well. Especially if we could knock off SMU next week at home. If we do that then the tourney becomes a real possibility. If 13-5 in conference and two tournaments wins doesn't get us in that would be a crime.
