We're Number One!
ATHLON Sports predicts us to win MAC-West, beat Ohio U. in MACC game, and play USF in Miami Beach Bowl.
The only OOC opponent they have ranked ahead of us (69) is Northwestern (44), which makes their prediction of our record 9-4, 6-2 hard to understand.

Encouraging and bewildering at the same time, but I'll take it.

I also believe that we'll take on Ohio in the MACC. I'd be okay with that bowl game as well.

Don't know that 6-2 will take the west, but I'd take that season.

RE: We're Number One!
I agree. This Is the year. I think we dominate the MAC with only 3 close games and one MAC loss.
OOC games don't matter much to me, but I expect us to go 2-2.
9-3 overall regular season. Anything less than that and we've underachieved, and certain Bronco fans will be happy.

RE: We're Number One!
Prognosticators understand that simply being a better team overall doesn't mean you win. Lesser ranked and less capable teams can and will beat a better opponent on a given day. Thus, don't assume simply because we may be favored in all but one game that we will win all but one game. Likewise, don't assume we will lose the game we are the underdog.
Perhaps more importantly, I doubt there has ever been a league with more consistent parity than the MAC, year in and year out. No game can ever be taken for granted. Interestingly, we have done quite well the past couple years beating the teams we should beat, and have played quite competitively at least in the games we lost. Regardless, it is probably unrealistic to assume we will win every game we are favored in. I hope we do though.

RE: We're Number One!
I don't want to be the negative nancy here, but I don't honestly see where the confidence in a great year is coming from. We've lost most of the middle of a mediocre defense and our #1 cover corner. Lost our #1 OL player and our #1 possession receiver. We have a solid returning QB and likely the #1 WR in the MAC... Couple that with the deepest RB group we can assume points will be scored, however I fear our defense is going to struggle up the middle.
Illinois, GaSo and NW are going to make efforts to expose that interior weakness.... They are going to punish our interior defense to the point where we weaken the outside and leave ourselves vulnerable to the big play. I hope I'm wrong and we see some huge advancements by our younger core... Just trying to temper our overly enthusiastic early predictions. I see another solid year, but also I see another 8 wins max with a underwhelming bowl win.
I again hope I'm wrong, but I've been a long time Bronco and see nothing new. I see us getting overly hyped yet again and utterly let down. Go Broncos... And let's just take it one game at a time. Prove me wrong Admiral Fleck!!!!

Every team loses players to graduation. Great recruiting takes care of that.
When do you Fleckies get on board with your man crush?

When have I forward tracked? I'm not back tracking... I'm being a realist. I wasn't the one promising the world... I was just one of many saying Fleck was a great move forward. Can you honestly say our program hasn't made huge strides?
I'm just not seeing the DOMINANT year everyone is predicting. Solid year? Yes. Dominant year? Unlikely.

I am so excited about where are program is right now. More excited then when I was an undergrad at WMU and we were fighting it out with Marshall each year. Since I was 8 in 88, this is the most excited I've been about our football program in my life.
It is SO SAD that some people can't enjoy it.

I admire your long standing ability to keep so positive. I have been on board for many many years only to get my hopes vaulted to an un-realistic expectation and ultimately let down... Its the Bronco way... Its almost like Detroit Lions - Lite...
I am SUPER excited at the direction this program has taken, but I am also tempered in the fact that we haven't really accomplished anything quite yet... we have yet to make it to a conference championship game, or for gosh sakes.... beat NIU!
Are we gaining ground? YES! But so is everyone else. I have HOPE that PJ is getting the underclassmen up to speed and that we will be spouting other players names with regularity as the season progresses. As ChipDip did mention... its time that the recruiting starts to take hold and show promise on the field... I have much hope, but also I have much trepidation about getting too overly confident... Definitely continually trending upwards... and that alone is still a positive.
GO BRONCOS!!!!

Tell me how everyone else is gaining ground?
Is BG, BSU, UT, NIU, or CMU gaining ground? They all lost a number of key players, and Fleck has repeatedly talked about our amazing recruiting.
I see two teams that will be improved. Miami and OU. When we went 8-4 in 2014 you guys pointed to 2016 as the year...........and now you're backtracking.

Barring injuries, this IS the year. Both the schedule and the personnel suggest we should win the MAC. Personally, I'm all in this year! Here's to a rerun of the 2000 regular season (sans the epic meltdown in Mt. Pee).

RE: We're Number One!
Doo shared MAC his third year.
Molde won it outright his second.
Darnell won West his third and fourth, had to play Marshall for MACC in their stadium.
Fleck has been given resources those coaches didn't have, certainly far more than Cubit.
Time for him to put up.

RE: We're Number One!
I have enjoyed the last two seasons tremendously. We won a decent amount of games, and even the games we lost were mostly good competitive contests. I really look forward to this season. The schedule is manageable, and we have the players coaches to have a great year.
If we have the year I am hoping for it will be a bit of a bummer that I no longer get to watch games with my son. As noted a while back, he is off to West Point, and won't be back till Christmas. I sure would love it if we could get Army on the schedule. Would be an awesome road game. Mitchie Stadium is one of the greatest sports venues in the country.

From the hoops board:
Go Broncos!!!
Please stop with the excuses.
And don't settle
It's not what winners (or leaders) do.

You PEOPLE (hahaha "Persrod people") are protecting your stance instead of being excited about your WMU Bronco team this year, which is full of great potential and should be realizing it.
Real fans wouldn't worry about their "e-opinions" first, the results second, right!?
NO EXCUSES!! MACC or it's a bust.
