Remember, the Big 12 came about when the Big 8 merged with 4 teams from the SWC...so both conferences were expanded into new markets.

Not many could have predicted back in 1995-1996 that teams in a conf would end up with $30 Million plus EACH in TV revenue in the coming years.

Most thought ND ended up with a max deal when they were first given approx $8 Million per year from NBC.

In 1996, first year of Big 12, all conf revenue shares ended up being $4.5 Million (included bowl revenue too).
