TXST usually does well until day 3. We crapped out last year in that round.

Cajuns suck at women's golf!
Don't understand why we have yet to sponsor that sport. Not like it's a budget killer! 03-idea

Day two had some movement. TxSt in the lead by 12 strokes, and GaSo jumped 4 spots.

Finishing 2nd the past 2 years makes a 12 stroke lead nothing in my book. Tomorrow will be hold your breath time.

They did win the SLC like 2 years in a row not too long ago. Same coach but, obviously, different athletes.

Our Women's golf team isn't much, but our Men's golf program is having its best year in nearly 20 years.

Every spare dime has to go to Hudspeth and Marlin.

RE: Women's Golf
It's worth noting that Men's Golf is moving to a match play format this year. 3 rounds of stroke play, with the top 4 advancing to match play the next day. A 19 stroke win in Men's play could be erased the next day with one bad round.

Match play is basically whoever wins the most holes against a single opponent. Stroke play is lowest score over 18 holes against an entire field.

Welp, after 10 years at TXST with 2 SLC titles, 3 2nds and a win in the SBC and 6 NCAA appearances, TXST women's golf coach just went to UNT.

Be our guest. Kinda sad when you can't even keep your golf coach from jumping ship.

Especially considering the similar budgets. TXST is know for fully financing all sports. Maybe there was something personal there for your former coach.

Akers last reported salary at TXST was $52,665. Wonder what he's going to get at UNT?

I can't find any info on their Golf coaches at my source. (State of TX employees)
