The guys listed in the article are who I have been thinking have a shot at being drafted as well (O Jones, Russell, Milligan, Norrils, Ely). Hopefully, they make the most of their opportunity however it comes about. I also wonder about Zmolik, Reuben Carter, and Murdock.

There have been some pretty Rocket players come thru the program the pass several years but none have been drafted for sometime now. I wouldn't be too surprised if no Rocket is drafted this year either, but I would surprised if at least a couple don't end up on some NFL roster next fall after all the cuts have been made. Of course the success of the team this year may help break the draft drought for the Rockets, but I wouldn't bank on it.

If Kareem Hunt stays healthy, he will get drafted next year.

It's a shame because I thought David Fluellen was NFL ready as do I think Jones, Voss and Norrils should make 53 man rosters come September. I know I look through a blue and gold lens but if I were a GM, I'd give a serious look at someone like Voss or even Milligan as a special teams asset.

RE: Talented UT players could get drafted
I hope I'm wrong, but I think it most likely that no Rocket will be drafted again this year.

Russell has an outside shot of going, maybe in the 7th, but most sites I have checks still have him listed well off the board. I was encouraged that he has a shot, by the film of Treadwell (a round 1 pick) dropping every possible ball thrown to him so it appears drops don't scare away teams. Russell is bigger, and I think faster than Treadwell. Fuller supposedly led the NCAA in drops, and was also a round 1 pick.

One site has posted a rumor that some teams have Jones rated as a 4th-5th rounder. I find that hard to believe, since if it were true, it would be the scoop of the draft (since he's not on anyone's board at all) and I would think every single blogger in the country would have picked it up by now.

Ely doesn't appear to be on anyone's board either, and I wonder if he will get a camp invite, let alone be drafted.

I do think Norrils will be on a roster come opening day, as decent CBs are just too valuable a commodity in the NFL, but I doubt he will be drafted.

I think Jones, Norrils, Russell, Milligan will all be in camps, and then who knows. A couple others may get invites, but I think are longer shots. Zmolik I think could be a devastating FB in the NFL, but that's a dying position. We'll see if anyone gives him a shot.

There have been some pretty GOOD Rocket players come thru the program the PAST several years.

---left out a key word as usual and spelled a word wrong as usual----in retrospect, maybe I should have also used the word "talented", not "good", --oh well, screw it. I really need an editor---the pay is poor, but there is lots of work.

The only thing I can see that might have cost Fluellen in the draft was his history of injuries because it certainly wasn't his performance on the field. He flat out schooled Missouri with 100 yards rushing and 100 yards in receptions and this was a team that went on win a SEC division title in 2014 IIRC.

I would love to argue with you but I can't. Next year the draft drought ends with Kareem Hunt and Travon Hester.

You mean if Mancz comes back. Doubt if UT ever gets another All-America/MAC MVP on the OL. and at Center no less.

He did play hurt all year that is why he was not as explosive so no reason to think he won't be more explosive. I also think Candle will do a better job of not abandoning the run game with Campbell not there.

I really hope so! Loved what I saw in the bowl game. Our first and last games may have been our best.
