Well, damn. Congrats to USM. 3/5 of the way through the conference schedule and USM leads by one.

Rice has:

Southern Miss has:

Rice's schedule is a little bit easier, but not by much.

FAU is only two games back of USM, and one back of Rice. With FAU still playing USM and Rice, you can't count them out!

Certainly not the type of series I saw us winning. I've got to give it up for our much maligned bullpen. They were outstanding this weekend.

Our hitting didn't do much but they hung in there and were opportunistic against a great pitching staff. A slumping Chuckie Robinson came up with three HUGE hits and RBIs this weekend.

If we could sweep a series or two it'd help our standings but Ill settle for just winning them.

3 game total of 11,871 which averages out to 3,957 a game. Not bad at all

If I did my math right the bullpen pitched 9.1 innings and gave up 1 run

Coming into the weekend Rice was 5-0 in 1-run games while USM was 3-1 with the loss coming at UAB last weekend

Same thought I had while watching their squad.

If they (Rice) could hit to contact more all the way through the lineup, they will be a very tough team to beat, IMO.

Very surprised we got 2/3. I had a feeling that Rice's pitching would dominate us all weekend and that we wouldn't score much. I felt like Rice was going to at least score 4 runs every game.

I'll take it.

We have got to win some of these midweek games that we got left. That's starting to look bad for us.
