I always preferred Mumbley Peg.

Do we have any word on who did the voting for the Sun Belt or if a vote was made by members? If so, I'd love to see who was for and against or if one school made the decision for all of us.

Teis continues to show why he's a joke but now he's doing it outside of San Marcos. Take pity on us TXST fans knowing he's been our AD since around the turn of the millennium.

Yeah, we've been trying to get rid of him for a long time but as long as he doesn't rock Trauth's boat we're stuck.

A few more votes like his last two, and maybe we can get him impeached . . .

Or at the very least, have the local villagers take up pitchforks and torches, and run him out of office . . .

I am waiting for a scandal so he gets run out of SM. Nothing that hurts the program, just a personal issue.

. . . The other problem we have with him being the Conference Rep . . . Is that his voting record/stance ensures that nooooo other school/conference will touch him with a ten foot pole . . .

. . . at least when he was "only our problem," there was the hope that some "unsuspecting" school might hire him away . . . .

Another Hope Bites the Dust . . .

So it's possible that Teis is just taking heat for what was a group decision, right?

Coach Anderson said on the radio this afternoon that he thinks the league was split evenly on paid parent trips. A-State was for it.

I can't find a good reason for anyone to be against it. Happy guardians means happy kids right ( most of the time anyways).

Obviously if all the other conferences are going to do it, then we HAVE to just to compete for recruits. The same as with COA.

It makes sense to me, that a conference as financialy strapped as ours ( ESPECIALLY with the new COA expenses, with members facing new subsidy restrictions, with some members already being forced to play two money games per year just to make ends meet) would not want to allow conferences with excess money to travel lots of local talent and their families off to another state. It seems that had this been blocked, it would have better served our conference members in talent rich states. Which is the majority of our conference. IMOP, it follows the same reasoning as being against out of state camps.

Voting against it won't stop us from doing it, now that we failed to block the big spenders from doing it.

This isn't about being against parents or not wanting them there, but stopping BIG timers from rolling out expense paid family vacation type visits for any and every recruit that they might be interested in. BECAUSE we are going to have a hard time competing with that.

Money. There were a few SBC schools, one in San Marcos in particular who did not want to spend the money necessary to bring parents in.

That might be a little like saying I didn't "want to spend the money" the other night at Red Lobster when I decided to not get the three Lobster tail and steak. Just because I settled on the "Choice of two", doesn't mean I didn't want to spend the money. Maybe it means I knew I might come up short on the car payment if I did!

I'd be against everybody else at the table ordering that Lobster feast to. But dang if I'm going to eat butterfly shrimp and fried clams while everybody around me is gorging on Lobster....
