As a Lady Techster from 1998-2002 she served as a two-year captain and starting point guard as a junior and senior, while leading the Lady Techsters to an impressive 119-16 mark under legendary coach Leon Barmore. She was instrumental in leading Louisiana Tech to four NCAA Championship appearances, including the Final Four in 1999 and two more Elite Eight appearances.

As a coach Stoehr began her career at Arkansas-Little Rock before returning to Tech coaching under Chris Long. Following her time in Ruston, she went to Southern Mississippi then to Texas Tech before landing her first head coaching job at Northwestern State.

During her time at Northwestern State, she turned a program around that won just two conference games before her arrival. In her first season (2012-13) they doubled their win total from the year before and qualified for the Southland Conference Tournament. The second year was even better as Northwestern State won the Southland Conference Tournament and their first 20-win season in 10 years. The next two seasons were more of the same as Northwestern State won the conference tournament both years.

Louisiana Tech is expected to hold a press conference Tuesday to announce the hiring of Brooke Stoehr as head coach of the Lady Techsters.

You took the words right out of my mouth. Her husband was her co-head coach as NSU. Interested to see where he fits in.

Excellent choice. She should have been hired long ago.

Her husband was an assistant and is likely coming with her. State law prevents one spouse from hiring the other, so they were technically classified as co-head coaches at NSU.

I like the Loudmouth Golf coaching duds. Maybe she will bring that look back to Ruston.

This is the perfect hire. In fact its the only hire you could make to show you have attacked any problems that you might have.

Brooke will do well there. She and her husband are quality people.

Only mistake was passing on here 2 years ago for jr.

Not sure how it'd look, but why not? I'm willing to give all teams a shot with it, It'll give us something outside the normal. It used to be more common.

I love that Columbia color of blue. It looks so good. And you have a great coach. Stoehr will be a very big boost.

Alright lets see a football uniform design. I actually think it would look good if not too overdone.

Also, not really a fan of the Black uniforms the techsters have worn a lot this year.

Brooke was an assistant at Tech when I was working in the Athletic Dept. Great hire in my opinion. should have done it two years ago.

The old folks would crap their pants if they saw Columbia blue on the gridiron. For some reason the argument over which blue is appropriate is hotly contested.
