League slipped slightly last week. Could use a very good couple of days.

I believe CUSA went 3-7 midweek last week. We need to at least go 8-4 (or at least win 67% of the games depending on if any are rained out) this week I feel like to keep our "spot" but it also depends on how the PAC12 and BIG12 do as well obviously. We have several "bad" matchups this week as 5 of the 12 opponents have an RPI gap/difference of over 100 (for example...Marshall - 101 vs EKU - 214...not picking on Marshall as there's 4 more but listed them as they are the first one I listed for Tuesday games)

Above what sort of RPI difference does even a win by the better team degrade its RPI?

It depends on the win/loss record of the other team's record. The # of that team's RPI is less relevant than the overall record of that team and records of that team's opponents. That's why (as I have been preaching with respect to RPI) why non-conference win pct is so important. When you play an opponent your RPI is affected by both that team's W/L record and the W/L record of that team's opponents. And since a few more games are played in conference than out of conference when you play a conference opponent the RPI implications (opponents record and opponents/opponents record) cumulatively is based primarily on how well your mates did out of conference (with a slight variance because we don't play each team in conference but play every other school except one).

The answer to your question is it depends. Lot of variables.

I'll be surprised if Tech is able to get either of the games in due to rain...

basically 70% chance from 5 till 8 pm today

with basically same forecast tomorrow -

Depends how heavy and if there is any electricity in the air

And we're already down 4-0. Still in the 1st.

A double, two walks, a HBP, and then another double.

6-0 Tulane after 2. Not even going to bother with updates from here.

USM baseball gets ranked and then they go to pieces. It is the USM way.

The last 4 games (3 at UAB and last night at Tulane) took USM from a possible host to a more than likely 2 seed at Ole Miss or Ms State. There's still an outside chance of hosting I feel like but it's going to take winning 75% of remaining games AND either winning the tournament or making the championship game

Owls lead 4 to 3 over #1 Miami heading into the 9th. Let's see if we can hold on to this one.
