Many? That's a massive stretch. Massive. So he can get a 5-10 point guard. Great.
Many many more think he's awful. So there is that.

By saying he has an upside, that also implies he has a downside. My point is there are certain people willing to look past the downside because of the upside. What doesn't make sense is to imply that Josh has no upside at all.

450 called "many people" a stretch. I'm wondering more about the "recruits" part. Are you talking about Jimario and Charlie in the "still find appealing" part? 'Cause that would be "recruit" at this point.

Wow ... I never understood why the kid committed to the CJP Dumpster Fire in the first place though.

a lot of kids commit to school for style of play-won't get guys who want to run the floor anymore.

Could it possibly be that the Dumpster Fire at Memphis—admittedly related to Josh's downside—played a role in this and not just Josh himself? I will not be surprised if he manages to get a few good recruits at GT just like he did his first years here.

Well, just hope that he can coach AND develop players.

Yeah, I know there are not many prospects left for 2016.
We need some guys, and we are spoiled by all the higher level, high maintaince type of recruits.

Might be worthwhile to recruit guys who want to play and get an education.

I hear ya but he can't coach or develop anyone one he gets.

I suppose, but it's not like there aren't other schools that play an uptempo style. I'm sure that Josh is pretty charming when he's one on one, but if I were making a decision regarding a decision as important as this, I'd look at the total package. That said, I don't think it's about style of play, he's considering Illinois now (197th in tempo) and Cal (172nd).

Be patient. Right now he's trying to mend fences taking pics with the one guy that's bringing in the 5 stars

RE: Tubby & Recruiting
Recruiting is about relationships, usually established over a period of time. His roster at TT was pretty much set, so he was only looking to fill one or two spots in this class. It makes sense that he is playing serious catch-up trying to make inroads with the few remaining quality players.

2017 is a different story. Due to needs, he was working this class more heavily than the 2016 class and has already extended several offers to four and five star recruits in that class.

Odds are heavy that he doesn't use all available scholarships for 2016 because, due to timing, 2017 is going to be the more important class with higher availability of quality talent. Time will tell.

Pastner offered Bourama Sidibe, and he's still undecided. I'd feel better with a 6'10" 220 lb addition to the front line. I'm tired of small ball, but if we don't get some size, we're not going to have many other options next year.
