We have two midweek games before our series this weekend... feel free to use up all your pitching!

I think we've long decided that our only chance at winning a game this weekend involves beating Kevin Hill on Friday. Looks as if the plan for now is to start a reliever on Sunday, and bring the guy who threw today in out of the pen.

4 hours... I was waiting to post an update but CofC can't get out of this inning. Eagles get two more in the top of the 9th and lead 11-6.

AState loses on a 2 out Pinch Hit 3 run homer off our closer. 4-2

The throw your best pitcher in the midweek and try to get a cheap win over a top 30 team idea backfired. Now we don't have that pitcher heading against a Top 30 team this weekend.

We are doing our normal mid week thing. Getting thumped by a team we should beat. Down 12-7 in the 7th. We don't deserve an at large bid if we keep losing to teams of this caliber. Thank goodness we are 12-0 in conference. This proves we are not deep with pitching ..Weekend pitching is good. After that. No so much.

Final: UL wins it 4-0. All around a solid Louisiana performance. Evan was superb, pitching the whole game....probably one of best pitching efforts in a long time. Team will be very rested for the weekend.

Forgive me if I have little sympathy for the team that is 10th in RPI. Y'all will be fine.

That RPI won't stay 10th. They'll get passed by several major conference teams soon enough.

This game is still going. Bottom of the 9th and we just walked in a run. Now a single brings home two.

edit, wild pitch adds one more. 13-10.

IMO RPI rankings are garbage, especially half way through the season. No offense to (8) College of Charleston...

Evan Guillory throws a complete game shutout. One hitter vs. Northwestern State, 4-0. Threw 93 pitches and faced one over the minimum, retiring the last 15 in a row.

First complete game one hit shutout since Zach Osborne did the trick against Troy in 2010.

One of the best pitching performances I have seen in a while. Not to mention NWSt had seen Guillory in the midweek only a few weeks before, makes the feat that much more impressive.

Couple that with the performances of our other starters, outside of Leger, and the relievers this past weekend, the staff is really starting to look scary. Just like your article mentioned, this is probably the best pitching staff that Tony has ever had. They can easily go 9-10 deep.

Baseball... we score 9 total runs in 3 games against TxSt at home. Then turn around a few days later and score 13 in one game against a ranked opponent on the road.
