What is ESPN3? Isn't it an internet site channel?

Tangentially related, but it looks like SlingTV is creating a separate service for Fox channels. I could see this being really useful for ODU fans as none of the Cable companies carry FS1, which it seems like Sling would, along with all of Fox's regional sports channels.

FS1 is distributed extremely widely. It's very easy to get.

Rumors suggest Fox may be out of the picture though.

Not for ODU fans that only have Cox as an option for cable, which is most of Norfolk.

It's on the basic tier for Cox costumers in the 757.

They only had right to the football championship because they threatened to sue. C-USA apparently negotiated with FOX before ESPN had refused to bid. ESPN claimed an email sent to commissioner didn't fulfill their right to first refusal.

I am very much hoping and expecting an ASN partnership with ESPN that allows us to have our games broadcast via Watch ESPN.

Across the plethora of devices, Watch ESPN has gotten a lot better in quality. I watched the MT/Vanderbilt game last night through my ROKU and it streamed 1080 with perfect clarity and no buffering. Oh and I my internet is via a hotspot created with my Samsung Galaxy phone.

It just drives me up a wall that I can watch Princeton vs. St Johns baseball tonight or Lenoir-Rhyne vs. Wingate baseball tomorrow night but you can only find one game on this weekend anywhere for the nation's third ranked conference.

I don't even care about the revenue at this point. I just want the access.

I don't know if I'll ever watch a baseball game, but I absolutely agree that access is the most important thing. Every single basketball and football game should be streamed in high quality, televised regionally, or televised nationally. That has to be the goal.

RE: C-USA TV negotiations still on-going
Fox is foolish if they are walking from CUSA and letting ESPN have it. They need to build up Fox sports Go like they did with Big East and they hardly have any content. CUSA is a rounding error for the $1 Billion + they'll spend for half the Big Ten content. They could have taken CUSA and the Championship game and totally boxed out ESPN from 1 of only 10 FBS conferences and then should have went hard after Big Ten while keeping half of Big12 and PAC12.

Just think its a foolish error by Fox.

Superjanaro what are you hearing beyond the expected ASN games all being backed by ESPN3 and a few sublicensed to CBSSN?

The Fox issue in Hampton Roads with Cox is the lack of the Fox College Sports channels and no Fox branded RSN in the region. The former is just an issue of Cox adding the channels. Since Cox is awful I'm sure it will be about 700 years from now before that happens and after they add "HGTV 9: Your home for back yard sofas!". I don't see the latter changing unless/until the MASN situation is cleared up with the Nats and O's. As Drunkard said we get FS1 and FS2 with no problem.

This was a surprisingly cognizant post. Well said.

I thought MASN2 was carrying Fox Sports Programming.

MASN2 is just an overflow channel. Typically the only time it shows up on Cox is during baseball season and the Nats and O's are playing at the same time. It is also a shared channel on Cox with with the CSN-DC overflow channel CSN-DC+.
