RE: is the southern state coalition plauible in secession?
Nah. Just something we wishfully ponder sometimes. Besides, you could include a much larger area - almost all the country save for the Northeast, West Coast, and a few areas bordering the Great Lakes.

I know this is not a serious thread but WTF I'll try to give a serious answer anyway.
The only scenario under which secession or something like that happens is if the US loses a major war and parts of the nation come under occupation by non-American military forces. For the next 100 years or so, I'd guess that India and China would be the only countries on earth with the sheer physical ability to do that. But why would they want to? What could possibly lead up to a scenario like that?

This has to be the most ridiculous thing I have ever read. First off you have about as much chance of this happening as Southern Miss does of getting in the AAC annd second after about a year away from those federal dollars(especially Mississippi) you would all come begging President Sanders to take you back.

The Liberal States of America...I'd love to move to that country.
lots of coast line and natural resources (used in a smart, clean, way)...plus, nice weather.
Well Enjoy it, but this time on the Pacific version !
the economies of those states are ranked
#1 (Cal), #14 (Washington), #25 (Oregon), and #38 (Hawai'i)
it would have a strong economy, lots of coast line, plenty of natural resources, surrounded by strong, peaceful nations...and a robust tourism industry.
