Perhaps, you're new here and/or just skipped toward the end of this conversation? If you have been following this news and speculation on this item in our BBS you'd find 99.9% of your current conference mates fall into the "That sucks; go Idaho & NMSU!" or "Damn... good luck, Idaho and NMSU! We think this SUCKS!" categories (or somewhere in between). What happened to you guys could happen to any of the rest of us guys and virtually, NOBODY is failing to empathize and/or sympathize with the Vandals and Aggies.

We aren't the cause of Idaho and NMSU's problems. We just temporarily lessened them.

The causes are their geographic peer institutions...and to some extent...themselves.

I'd be upset and worried if App were in the same boat as Idaho, but I do believe these two videos were aimed squarely at the SB which is a low blow. This conference gave Idaho a 4 year lifeboat when nobody else wanted you.

Instead of being mad at the conference I'd see if it or some of its members would be willing to help going forward by scheduling OOC games. The anger is misplaced.

Perhaps (and correct me if I'm wrong) Idaho should be making top notch videos on why they deserve to be invited into the MW. Maybe highlight the rivalries and commonalities with MW members that are too compelling to let float anymore.

I assume these videos are to sell tickets and fire people up. I don't think videos where people say "I wish we were playing Boise & Nevada, but hey, come to the games anyway" serve the purpose. I also doubt there's a president in the MW who will say "they can make a video?! Quick! Call the membership committee!!!"

Anyway, I'm sure we've already made our case to the MWC through a 5th grade PowerPoint presentation. So we're good.

Heck, wasn't Jordan famous for seeking out the slightest thing he'd see as offensive from his opponents to use as motivation to pound them? Didn't UConn use the idea that they were rejected by the Big East/ACC/Big Ten as an incentive to prove the world "wrong" when they had their 2014 basketball championship run?

Players on opposing teams had nothing to do with the fact Idaho has only two years left in the conference, but coaches are wise to use the idea that they were rejected as a motivating tool to perform. Putting it on youtube for the public to see is supposed to motivate the players to back up the message that they're going to hungry and ready, and maybe motivate fans to come out to some games. I have no problem with this.

And of course the decision wasn't personal. The Sun Belt did what was best for the Sun Belt, at least in the minds of decision-makers; it's not like there would have been zero merit in extending Idaho & NMSU.

Credit to Idaho fans like Latah Country for recognizing all of this.

Exactly. At the press conference Karl Benson said things might have gone differently if Idaho had performed better on the field. If I were a player I'd take that personally.

The only useful campaign in boise would be to walk in, throw a chair through a window, and beat the s#it out of them. While other MW teams are taking our calls, it was truly a wise move by bsu's prez to stop giving Idaho a shot at them. A win would topple their little tower.
