RE: Interesting Factoid
WMU has a culture of being consistently respectable, we do OK, play the games, win our share and a real nice win now and then, good memories, all that.

But, what is lacking is that killer instinct, the desire and ability to win the big games, very few championships. In the current lingo, not elite.

Very nice to have an excellent record vs. our rival.

Now can we take the next step? Get our alums and community in a tizzy? See those heady 35,000 attendance days again?

Nice stat, but not relevant. It also unintentionally provides credibility to CMU's buffoonish argument that past MAC championships earned by players and coaches no longer active or remotely affiliated with the program are somehow relevant.

If we keep our focus on what matters, the present day with our current coaching staffs and players, WMU is clearly superior in every category.

Head-to-head competition - check, WMU
Finish ahead in the standings - check, WMU
Freshman of the Year Player(s) - check, WMU
Top recruiting - check, WMU
Has an AD that has never hired Dan Enos or Ernie Zeigler - check, WMU
Bowl Championship Ring - check, WMU
Better looking dance team - check-check-check-check (oops, got carried away), WMU

Not a single current CMU player or coach have won a MAC Championship at CMU.

Go Broncos! 41-39

04-cheers

Here's a legitimate question for all:

Have our fans EVER rushed the field and torn down a goal post after a big game? I think the answer is no, but I'm not sure. Last time may have been '88, but did we clinch on the road or did we know at the time we won the MAC?

I would really like to see a goal post come down 04-rock

1988 team finished year with home win over Ohio. Dont remember an answer goal post question.

Also in 1988 they started year with a win at Wisconsin.
