I would be willing to bet his body fat % is a lot higher than anybody else on the team. He is a skinny, fat boy. Skinny arms and legs and a fat trunk.
He can be effective at times, how I have no idea. Button pushed.

Nothing better than a 60 year old out of shape man who depends on his friends to get him in Trask, to talk trash about a 21 year old college student who has worked hard to shed weight. Props to him for loosing weight and working hard in the off season.

I will take the out of shape challenge from you -any time you care to line it up or shut up better yet.

Let's go easy on the personal digs. I understand a certain poster is looking to get an edge out of us.

Let the cooler heads prevail while our teams win championships!

Hawks so Hard is a UNCW fan and deserves to state his opinion. If people don't agree, then they don't agree. He may bring out things that keep it real a bit. In the end, most will feel that Bass is doing a great job if the only thing that he does is get a GREAT hoops and baseball coach. Still, the man has his right to write what he wants provided that he's a UNCW guy. And, I feel that he is.

Monday Night Football was at it's best when Howard Cosell was on, and this Board is 10 times better when The Mullet posts. Spices things up, in a fishy sort of way.

Don't mind the opinions so long as personal attacks aren't occurring. The man (maybe a woman) only has 5 posts in the last 2 years, 4 of which are pot shots at Bass. Not saying HSH isn't entitled to post those and nobody else is saying that either. Clearly, many of us disagree. There's no need for personal attacks around here though.

Notice HSH or any others haven't been formally warned or banned. Didn't see it as necessary.

Go Seahawks!

+1

It was getting a little dry around here during his hiatus. He's a necessary member of the Seahawk extended family.

A UNCW poster, or a poster with an agenda? Five posts total over two years, four bashing Bass and one bashing the new logo. I absolutely will call out a UNCW "fan" who hasn't a single thing to say that is positive about this university.

Nobody has denied this person the right to state an opinion, but I will state mine, and I will absolutely point out the fact that posters come to this board with a very apparent agenda, just as Cottonballs did. And as we make a run to the NCAA after back to back CAA regular season championships, and the first CAA Tournament championship with an NCAA autobid, there is no sign of these posters beyond targeting Bass. I WILL point that out and call it out, because there is an agenda.

If we are stupid enough to allow a few donors...again...to throw a wrench into our success and nobody does or says anything, then this University may as well give up on ever attaining success in athletics.

The AD is NOT the fundraising arm of an athletic department, he is the overall manager of the department. And, lest we forget, we operate on one of the lowest budgets as a mid major. The university made a WISE decision in placing the fundraising arm of the Athletic department under the supervision of our major gifts head Eddie Stuart. They have more means and more employees available to assist in any fundraising objectives. It also allows Bass to focus on what an AD SHOULD be focused on, the athletics and student athletes aspect of the university.

And to that end, let me remind everyone of where we stand right now:

1. Men's basketball back to back 2015 and 2016 CAA regular season champs, 2016 ournament champs with auto bid to the Big Dance. First time in TEN years.

2. Men's baseball - 2012 and 2015 autobid to the NCAA tournament where they destroyed Tulane and kept it very close with LSU, one of the premier baseball programs in the NCAA

3. Women's volleyball - 2015 autobid to the NCAA championship after winning CAA championship. Started sand volleyball program in 2016.

4. Women's soccer - 2015 first NCAA tournament victory against South Carolina after earning at at-large bid to the tournament.

5. Men's tennis - Four straight trips to the NCAA tournament from 2010-2014

6. Women's tennis - CAA champ 2013-2014

7. Men's soccer - 2014 NCAA tournament appearance with 1st round victory at UNCW

To even engage in this discussion reminds of the complete foolishness surrounding Brownell. Seeking perfection from anyone is ignorant. Instead of harping on a few negatives, I simply want to remind everyone where we stand overall.

Our softball team is also off to their best start I can ever remember. We also have a competitive swim program and a track and field program that Will be rising again now that the uncertainty of their future has died down. Clearly women's basketball has issues but other than that what programs or areas are we struggling?

Don't forget the $1 mil donation to Seahawk baseball last year.

There are certainly a lot of great things happening and lots to be proud of in our history, present, and future!

I was at Coastal today for a baseball game and wow-UNCW should take it personal. The baseball, softball, football stadiums are really something for a school that size. The basketball arena is also new but I don't really care for it.
UNCW baseball deserves a facility as good as its program is how I see it. Not sure where CCU gets that kind of cash but it is pretty awesome.

South Carolina state government provides money to the universities for athletic facilities that is not available to NC universities. In 2012 they were approved for a $10.2 million dollar renovation to their baseball and softball facilities.

I am not positive about this, but I haven't seen that UNCW, for example, can request State funds for athletic facilities.

You're right about the state money in NC for athletics. If I am not mistaken, Trask Coliseum got some state money only because of the classrooms built in it. Had it not contained them, state funds could have not been used.
