Quote:Tiebreak Scenarios #1
4 seed: ULL gets the 4 seed with a win over Georgia Southern. If Georgia Southern wins, the tiebreak gets really messy
1. UALR 0-2 each
2. ULM 1-1 each
3. UTA 1-1 each
4-5 Current tie
Messy part:
Georgia State 1-1 each
Texas State 1-1 each
South Alabama ULL 1-1 GS 0-2
Arkansas State ULL 1-1 GS 2-0
ULL becomes the 4 seed IF: They Win OR They lose AND App State beats Arkansas State OR South Alabama beats Texas State. (In such scenario, tiebreak comes down to record vs either South Alabama alone, or South and Texas State combined, ULL owns both tiebreaks based on USA sweeping Georgia Southern
GS becomes the 4 seed IF They win AND Texas State beats South Alabama AND Arkansas State beats App State: (In such scenario the tiebreak comes down to records vs combined 3 way tie between Texas State, South Alabama, and Arkansas State. Each team would have finished 3-3 vs those teams. THEN the tiebreak comes to just Texas State alone. Both teams finished 1-1. THEN The tiebreak comes down to combined record vs Arkansas State/South Alabama Both teams finished 2-2, THEN the tiebreak comes down to record vs Arkansas State alone, and Georgia Southern wins the tiebreak based on AState beating the Cajuns a very long time ago.
Understand? Good, explain it to me.
Scenario 2:
Clinching spots in league tournament
Georgia State: Has clinched spot in New Orleans (Will be either 5 or 6 seed)
South Alabama: Will Clinch spot in New Orleans with a WIN vs Texas State OR a loss vs Texas State and an App State Win over Arkansas State. Jags would be 7 seed with win, 8 seed with loss and App State win. South Alabama would be ELIMINATED IF: They lose to Texas State and Arkansas State wins at App State
Texas State: Will clinch spot in New Orleans with a WIN vs South Alabama. Texas State would be ELIMINATED With: A Loss to South Alabama. (Because there has to be a winner between AState/App State)
Arkansas State: Will clinch spot in New Orleans with a WIN vs Appalachian State (Again, because someone has to lose between USA/Texas State) Arkansas State would be ELIMINATED IF: They lose to App State.
App State: Will Clinch spot in New Orleans with a WIN vs Arkansas State AND a Texas State loss to South Alabama. They will be eliminated with a loss or a Texas State win.
Tiebreaks:
If Texas State/USA finish tied for 7th: Texas State wins tiebreak based on sweep of USA
If Texas State/USA/Arkansas State finished tied for 7th-9th. Texas State is 7 seed based on 4-0 record vs those two teams, Arkansas State is 8 seed based on sweep of South Alabama. Jaguars are out
If Texas State/App State/Arkansas State finish tied for 8th-10th: Both App And Texas State would have swept Arkansas State and the Red Wolves would be 10. App and Texas State split, so the tiebreak would come down to record vs Little Rock, and App split with the Trojans while Texas State got swept. SO: App State 8 Texas State 9 Arkansas State 10
