2016 FB Schedule

"From someone within the athletic department. They just received the schedule.

9/01 - Montana State

9/10 - At UW

9/17 - At WSU

9/24 - At UNLV

10/1 - Troy

10/8 - At UL Monroe

10/15 - New Mexico St

10/22- At App St

10/29 - BYE

11/5 - At Texas St

11/12 - At UL Lafayette

11/19 - BYE

11/26 - South Alabama

12/3 - Georgia St"

Only thing noteworthy here is that the App State/Idaho game is the same weekend that App has played Georgia Southern the last two years, so that date has certainly been moved.

I know AState has their schedule, hopefully we'll "accidentally" release ours tomorrow as well.

41 days between home games... That's a long time

We went nearly a month and a half without a home game in 2014.

App went a month last season and it was agonizing for the fans.

Only five home games and two are after Thanksgiving, that is going to be tough to sale season tickets for, yikes.

Hope that's not a nasty parting gift from the sun belt

Agreed. Can't say I love the back end of this schedule. 6 weeks without a home game culminating in the dreaded Thanksgiving weekend at home. Plus an early-December home game, which is something we rarely do for good reason -- roads are sometimes horrible around here by then. Trying to sell season tickets to people in southern Idaho who may only be able to get up here for the first 3 games might be tough.

Only five home games, but an eight mile bus trip to Washington State for $600,000 and a 300 mile trip to Seattle to play Washington for $825,000. The trip to Las Vegas to play UNLV is part of a home-and-home. UNLV comes to Idaho in 2017. For Idaho fans, these are three road games they can travel to. They have over 6,000 alumni in the Seattle area and an alumni chapter in Vegas. They should be able to find a few fans that want to travel to Las Vegas.

We played at GS in September 2014. But before that in the SoCon, we always played late October/early November.

This is all true. I like what we did OOC this year. I'm just not a fan of the placement of the home games on the calendar. Would have been nice to move the December game into one of the bye weeks.

Army goes a month this year without a home game.

Scheduling a home game thanksgiving weekend is a horrible, horrible idea. Roads are bad, students are all at home. Attendance will be 5k if we're lucky. Brilliant job Benson and Spear!

Until we have a conference championship game nobody should have to play on Thanksgiving unless they schedule an OOC game. The conference should realize it kills attendance for half our schools every year with that date. App had a home game the last two years which is even more frustrating.

I heard that GS and App are likely to almost ALWAYS have Thanksgiving home games going forward because although they are poorly attended by our standards, they are much better than what other conference teams can pull on that weekend.

It was in the third Saturday of October last year. In 2014 it was at the end of September.

Welcome to FBS. It's not possible to work schedules where everyone gets a bye Thanksgiving weekend, so someone has to play.

I've never thought it was a big deal. For me, it was an easy excuse to leave my family Thanksgiving celebration a day earlier than usual.

12/3 in Idaho. Good grief. Reminds me of the year we ended the season in Maine.
