Bahamas bowl ring?
Anyone know if the team, staff etc are getting rings as a reward for winning the first bowl game in school history? WKU got really attractive rings from last year's win. Just curious if something like that was budgeted.

I'm sure they will, dunno when they'd hand them out though.

Doesn't CMU have Bahama's Bowl rings?

Oh wait, that's right, it lost.

Funny, the way CMU fans talk, you'd think they won that game with "The Play" all over ESPN. But they lost. And they lost the Quick Lane Bowl too. No ring, no bling.

Funny also, the way CMU fans talk about "tradition," you'd think their players and coaches would have multiple MAC Championship Rings. They don't. Not a single one. No ring and no bling for the current players and coaches at CMU. So sad.

Time to polish the Cannon Trophy. It looks at home in Kalamazoo having been here four of the last five years.

lol

Your assignment for this afternoon is to go to dictionary.com and look up the word "tradition." Then you are to return here and demonstrate your understanding of the word by using it successfully in a sentence.

You have until 5:00 EST today to complete this assignment. Better hop to it!

Thanks!

Poor arrows...he's confusing "tradition" with nostalgia.

The fact is your PRESENT coaches and players have NOTHING to do with ANY previous CMU MAC success or "tradition." Your athletic director even changed the school's colors from maroon and gold to maroon and YELLOW, which was a spit into the face of "tradition."

The Major is correct (bless him.) CMU broke ties with its "tradition" (Brian Kelly, Butch Jones, Dick Flynn, and Herb Deromedi, along with all their staff, are gone) and now just has nostalgia.

The current staff and players at WMU have bowl championship rings and the Cannon Trophy which they - not previous players and coaches who they do not even know - have earned.

41-39, two in a row, four or the last five, including two straight in Kelly-Shorts.

WKU presented their rings in May last year. Maybe that's how long it takes to manufacture 100+ rings. In any event I hope that we would hear about the presentation and have a look at the bling! First bowl ring ever! My neighbor was a trainer for ND in 1988 and flashes his National Championship ring at me occasionally. I'd love to at least show him a picture of our monumental win spoils!

I am quite sure there will be a video, music and speech when the rings come

Ask Michigan and Texas how "tradition" has worked out for them lately.

lol

Should I also ask them about their highly rated recruiting classes and how that's helped them win championships?

Thanks.

How has recruiting worked out for you? I haven't seen a decent class at Central since Butch left. And clearly there's been a correlation between this weak classes and those 3 to 6 win seasons.

Look at your own forum. They were all giddy about junior day, and then they were worried that Westerns was the following week. Judging by the current results they were right to be worried.

I'm glad you asked. Our recruits won a share of the MACW in our new HCs first year at CMU.

Anything else I can help with?

Thanks.

How'd you do against Bowling Green?

You lost to Toledo at home who we beat in Glass Bowl.

You squeaked out wins over those noted powerhouses EMU, Akron, Ball State. Blew out Kent State by 13.

And lost to US for fourth time in five years.

You must be so proud and optimistic about the future.

You're welcome!

BTW - do any Chimps have a Bahamas Bowl ring?

Well, if you're desperate to latch on to something, you're right. But using the tiebreaker you took 4th place, had a cake MAC East schedule, and ended the season being barely better than Eastern.

As for recruiting, Bono is awful. His only big score is the son of one of his teammates. He couldn't even keep Kaleb Perry from fleeing to Kalamazoo. He had a small class, yet was scrambling 48 hours before NSD to find a few players who were scrambling to find a team.

Major -

No Chippewas have a Bahamas Bowl ring. No current Chippewas have any Bowl Championship Ring, let alone a MAC Championship Ring. None - NONE - have beaten Western Michigan University in their home stadium.

Meanwhile, the Cannon Trophy is looking fine in its Kalamazoo trophy case, where it belongs. It certainly impressed the young and talented Mr. Perry, of Mount Pleasant, who is working hard to keep it in Kalamazoo the next four years.

41-39. 04-cheers

Any right thinking kid with talent is looking for any chance to get out of Mount Pleasant.

It is so bad up there. I mean really really bad. They are going to lose, lose lose. It's a serious problem for them. Nobody wants to go there. It will only get worse going forward. The glory days are over a long time ago and the future is looking dim. Last person out of Mt. Pleasant turn out the lights.
