Tony Levine, O'Leary, now Pastner. It's what we do.

Hate to break it to you but Texas St. and UTSA are the reasons why Levine got fired.

Nope. Tulane sealed TLs fate

Enjoy the win. The Green Wave out played the Tigers and well. Tulane played with passion and purpose. Congrats.

Always classy Old Tiger! Thanks,

I still do. Our young team is maturing as the year goes on. However, not much upside under Conroy.

RE: Tulane v Memphis on now
We're playing better and I'm really happy that we aren't tanking, like I thought we were. The matchups were better for us in these 2 games...cincy, u conn, smu smother defensively. ECU doesn't and Memphis is off their defensive game this year (which from my observation of the few games I've seen the Tigers play, is a big issue for them).
It's very unlikely that Conroy returns...but he is well-liked and he did his best recruiting of his career last year, so we'll see. We actually have some athletes that I think could be molded into at least a decent defensive team. And in contrast to Conroy's 2 predecessors, he hasn't made excuses.

Beating everyone all the time is boring. Gotta throw a few fish back eery now and then. Keeps the ecosystem healthy. Just being good conference mates

Goodbye Josh Pastner, been nice knowing you. He has inside connections to Houston, maybe he should be an assistant to Sampson. Or maybe he could be the HC here if Sampson goes to coach the Houston Rockets next season (that's a completely fabricated rumor by me, read nothing into it other than speculation).

He was gone already barring a miracle run...this may have caused him to depart mid season

This one play and the aftermath basically describes what Memphis Basketball is today: (all while losing at the time to Tulane...a game that the FT's ended up costing them the game)

Well, at least we didn't go winless for the season in the more important sport, did we? More like .550. And BB is easier to rebuild than football.

We have the infrastructure, the arena, the admin and booster support, and the fan base. All we need is a new coach, and we will be fine, thanks.

If that was a guarantee...then every team would end up with a successful "new" coach.

While Memphis Hoops has tons of advantages/history...even their future success is not guaranteed with another "new" coach.

I'm not concerned...you can't kill Memphis hoops...many have tried, all have failed.

Kill Memphis Hoops? Who was calling or predicting that?

Bottom line, a "new coach" won't automatically guarantee future AAC Titles for Memphis in the future (could happen...but far from a guarantee...especially if UCONN, SMU, Cinci, Temple and now maybe Houston stay in the top half) and/or a return to Final Fours.

You missed the point. In your quote, you omitted the all the other things I listed that were in place. I said we have everything in place to be successful EXCEPT a new coach, and it is implied that it would need to be a successful one, of course.

Yep he tried but didn't succeed now did he. Memphis basketball is down now, but with the right hire will be back as strong as ever. Fed Ex Forum will again be the place where 18,000 screaming Tiger fans, will again make it a place that opposing teams will dread coming to, only a matter of time.

Agreed, the right coach will have you back where you belong in no time. Can't keep a good program and a rich tradition down.
