Can't attribute the mental mistakes to fatigue because we make them so often. It's why we have such close games against inferior twams. When we play that way against teams that nearly match us in talent, especially on the road, it costs us.

Free throw attempts were 25 to 6, but UAB had to foul during the last minute.

You can't talk about coaches timeout philosophy around here lol
No, it's the fact that anytime people praise the good things our team is doing you guys act like we're calling them a top 10 team and feel obligated to remind us all that we aren't.

I felt like in the first half whenever we had a chance to pull away, we'd be hit by a foul or two.

Good Lord, have not seen this team play this year? They've pulled game after game out of the crapper right at the end.
Hell, who here didn't think we might down 6 with 2 and a half minutes to go?

ODU went into Ruston and won. It's been downhill since, and they just lost their 5th conference game this afternoon.

5
Tech scored four consecutive three pointers in a minute and thirty seconds, between 8.00-6.30 in the game.

If nothing else, a loss today hasn't put us in a difficult place like it has in years past. That alone shows our team's improvement. We're trending in the right direction...our best days are still ahead of us with this team.

RE: Louisiana Tech (Now with more Game Thread)
Would've been nice to get this one today, but going 2-1 on the 3 game road trip is a reasonable expectation. It's better to lose this one than to MT. If we come out of Murfreesboro with a 2-game lead with 4 to play, I feel really good about our chances to get the 1 seed. Personal FN prediction: we win out...until FIU. 25-6 (15-3), Conference Champs. If you're not pleased with that result after the terrible seasons in 2012, 2013, 2014, and the first half of 2015, well...

ODU was favored by 15, and lost to Rice by 9.
UAB should be favored in 4 of the last 5 games.
I'm just happy UAB pulled that win out at Hattiesburg.

I'd be happy with that. We just need to address our ongoing issues and try to get better before the tourney. It doesn't seem like we're doing that. We just stay with the status quo..

I don't want to overstate the importance of next week's game. Even if we lose we still control our destiny, but a win and a win against Marshall at home basically locks up the number 1 seed and the conference title for us. Lose next Sunday and it's totally up for grabs.

UAB has to play @MTSU, @FAU, @FIU, Marshall, WKU
MTSU has to play @USM, @FAU, @FIU, UAB, WKU, Marshall
Marshall has to play @UAB, @MTSU, Charlotte, ODU, LT, USM
LT has to play @UTSA, @UTEP, @Marshall, @WKU, Rice, UNT
These 4 teams can still win the regular season...mostly the other teams are all out barring a miracle since ODU just lost to Rice. Obviously the @MTSU game is the most important remaining.
LT needs to essentially win out or take a single loss and hope UAB loses 2-3 of our 5 remaining games. They need MTSU to obviously lose at least one game as well. They have the head-to-head over both of us.

I'm down here in Ruston. We played hard, but 20 fouls to 11??????? Not sure I agree with that.

We were up 10 in the 2nd half and then down by 11 with 6:30 to play...that's a 21 point swing buddy...I don't think we lead anytime in the last 10 minutes of the game...you think that's a recipe for winning? WAKE UP

Thats the problem I see. We haven't really improved in the problem areas. A lot of this stuff is fundamental basketball: boxing out, not making silly passes in traffic, taking care of the basketball in general, not giving up so many uncontested 3 pointers. All of these things have been an issue in nearly every conference game, especially on the road.

It's so hard to win on the road. LaTech had just lost at North Texas by 11, comes home and beats MT by 10 and UAB by 9.
UAB still has three road games left. It's not going to be easy. That win at USM was huge!
