Carmody was 4-2 against MSU and 2-1 against OM. Most importantly he beat OM the last two years they would play us. Sorry, but I haven't forgotten those wins.
I think Carmody was good, but Aubrey Lucas saw attendance dwindling and concluded Carmody was producing a boring product. It was kind of like the Bower decision, but back then we had a lot more clout, so it wasn't really that unreasonable to dismiss Carmody and try someone new.

would agree with most of that......toss in the personality differential, (commode-id-tee vs. the bow tie) and it becomes 'win'
the taste I have with the 'how' bower was released still pisses me off...you either do it 5/6/7 yrs earlier, or you don't pull the trigger...you have a sit down, and let him bow out gracefully....
