Do you even go back and read what you write? Don't bother, it will be interesting to see how this plays out for the University of Miami @Knoxville.

And coaches had no idea? Good call Memphiscane, good call.

You sound very upset about this. I'm sorry this makes you feel so angry, but I can't help it.

Did the coaches know that there was a "altercation" at practice? Maybe, although there are so many that it may have gone unnoticed.

Did they care what it was over? Probably not, so long as the players went back to practice.

Were the coaches aware of the allegations of rape? Obviously, it was giant news. Players got suspended.

I'm skeptical about what attorneys put in pleadings like this. It's my job. Just because someone says something is the case doesn't mean you should lap it up like pudding and ask for seconds. I don't have any love for the Vols, but even if this did happen as the plaintiffs say, I don't think it proves that the coaches had any hand in this.

Calm down, go get some air and think about this for yourself instead.

Probably will come down to the lawyer in court asking Butch Jones if he ordered a 'Code Red'.

You are only reading in the manner you want to read it in. I am very copacetic, the most chilled guy around. Nothing on this BS site gets me too fired up.

I find it hard to believe that the coaches didn't know, we shall see. You should call the AOB at UTK and tell them of your thoughts Memphiscane.

Neither did the guy who allegedly saw Sandusky showering with a little kid. Neither did Beoheim when he allegedly saw the ball boy in Bernie's bed. Neither did Bernie's wife... Neither did....

I dunno. Sometimes it seems like an interwebs hermit would be preferable.

I know right. Kids are too irresponsible to stop and put on a condom let alone some legal document.

And this is not to say rape isn't rape but I've been around a lot of drunk women who are flirtatious and horny but hate the next morning that they slept with Mr. Beaker or some guy that's a general butt hole and decided to tell everyone about their sexcapade and reports him the next day. California feels that consent forms are the answer.

I know that there are real rape victims out there and rape is an disgusting act but a consent form will make easier to falsify a rape claim. Just say for instance a man and woman engaged in casual sex but the male forgot to sign a consent form, all it would take now is a woman going to the police department and claiming rape. The male will automatically be guilty because he forgot to sign a consent form and the DNA will be there.

I doubt it. According to the FBI, it is by far the least common violent crime. Pretty rare, actually.

RE: Ntr - nasty allegations at UTK
This is obviously a hot button issue that has been politicized in recent years so I won't say anything else. Rape is a violent crime and therefore a criminal matter to be investigated by the authorities. Public Universities shouldn't be involved in these types of investigations in any way, shape, or form.

Or worse yet, she destroys the signed copy and signs a new one claiming she didn't consent.

It's safe to say that the AD knows my thoughts on the subject.

We'll see if the Plaintiffs can even come close to supporting this averment. My guess is that they can't, but what do I know.

Apples and oranges.

But what is a coach's responsibility to his team, school, community when he finds out that one of his players (or coaches, I guess) has been accused of sexual assault?

Then he's essentially in the position that he would be currently, without any consent forms. That's one of the concerns.

what I find hilarious is how quickly the true allegiances come out on this board whenever there is anything really negative towards Ole Miss or Tennessee.

That is an interesting question. I would imagine that a coach's responsibility would be similar to a boss or employer's responsibility if they found out that an employee had been accused of the sexual assault of a fellow employee. That is, of course, if the player sexually assaulted another student at the university that the coach works for. I don't know the legal structure of a university, but I would think that coaches, professors, and administrators make up an "administrative class" and would therefore have a legal obligation to at least report an assault if they are aware of one.
