the paper already has. the school refused to provide it.
I'm actually a Bowen fan and still know that is poor PR actions.
whoops, miss that part. My bad.
so maybe not, lol. They've definitely put in the request, but don't know if the school said no or if they are just biding their time.

Going to be more expensive than Calipari, Finch, Kirk combined.
But he's got the best record of any of them in their first six years here. That's why he's worth it.

I see it the other way.
Exactly. This is just another way to show how Pastner's lack of success is costing the program money. Attendance would increase substantially with a coaching change (unless it's a completely idiotic hire).
It will? Substantially? You'll stop the bleeding. People aren't coming back until we're competitive.
How many of the ticket sales losses are due to people just deciding they don't want to go to Tigers games anymore and how many are due to disgust with Pastner's program.
If it's the former, a new coach won't matter. If it's the latter, a new coach does. If it's the right hire of course.
The losses are due to the team not being competitive anymore because of Josh Pastner. Hiring a new coach by itself will keep more people from leaving. But, unless it's an A+, win the press conference hire, I don't believe it's going to bring many people back in and of itself.
And I don't thing we're going to be making an A+, win the press conference hire. We're going to hire some low to mid major up and comer that no one's heard of and cross our fingers and hope for the best.
If that happens, I don't think that attendance will substantially improve until people have reason to believe we're going to be competitive.

I think there's a pretty large contingent that have made the decision to not attend until Pastner is gone. A new hire won't instantly get it back to a 16,000 average, but it will put plenty more butts in the seats than what we have now.
I'm not saying I advocate this, but... If they were to hire Penny, attendance would increase substantially.
Honestly I think Penny will seem like a gimmicky panic hire, and I think you're overestimating the effect hiring him will have.

RE: Forum Lease
If we are anouncing attendance in the 11k range, that means we still sold 10k tickets this year. Those people come back with a new hire.

RE: Forum Lease
Actually all Bowen had to say at the start of any year is that he doesn't want to know the turnstile count just tickets sold.
but that seems a stretch when you have a sliding scale of $$$ you are going to get from $ 6-10K average per game "actual attendees".
of course per game doesn't matter it is the grand average so why ask until the end of the year unless you want your own audit function.

Should we be concerned about Tom Bowen's contract negotiation ability?

RE: Forum Lease
A lot of the ideas on this board involve a man forfieting the pay day of a lifetime, another school/NBA team bailing us out of a terrible contract, and the local NBA franchise renegotiating a deal in good faith out of the goodness of their heart - keeping in mind that all those scenarios only benefit the U of M, the only party with zero leverage.
Let me know how that works out. Bowen might be good at a lot of things, but contract negotiations dont seem to be a strong suit.

kidmemphis.
Another gem, taking it as a some form of win that instead of reading a bunch of thugs circle jerk and bah our coach and program, I took a break.
Because morons equate not bashing with pure happiness or unwavering support.
My lord, which one of you douches found this abject loser?

the grizzlies dont run the forum. the lease agreement is with HOOPS, INC, and they aren't beholden to FOIA I dont think. the city built the building but that's all the stick they've got as long as their lease runs
