RE: Bracket Projections
I still don't understand how the CAA league-winner will get a 14. Makes no sense. Northeastern got a 14 last season when the CAA was the 20th-ranked conference. This season the CAA is ranked 9th. Simple math says that projection is dead wrong.
I'm pretty sure the last time the CAA was ranked this high, UNCW got a 9-seed and George Mason an 11-seed. I'm not saying the winner will get a 9-11. But a 12 sounds far more accurate. If W&M wins the league I could see them getting an 11.

RE: Bracket Projections
Right now the seeding is going by rpi after they project the teams. Right now your rpi does not project higher than a 14 seed. If you win out your rpi would be in the high 20,s to low 30,s and you would probably be seeded 11 or 12.

RE: Bracket Projections
If the projections actually factor in rpi, the Tribe would be in the field now and UNCW and Hofstra would both be mentioned as at large candidates. There are teams with rpis in the 70s on the bubble now just not from our league. Either the Tribe or St Joe's has the highest current rpi of a team that is out. I just hope that the league can have 2 to 3 strong finishes in the next three weeks and then we will see if it changes. I think the overall league is comparable to both 2006 and 2011 when we sent multiple teams and has final four participants. Not expecting that just disappointed we are getting no consideration.

RE: Bracket Projections
I said after they make the projections they are using rpi for seeding. Nothing about rpi factoring into projections. The selection committee will not go strictly by rpi for seeding. Also the teams you see with rpis or higher either in first place in their conference or teams they project will drastically improve their rpi by the end of the season.

Re: RE: Bracket Projections
Exactly this. Most of the projections appear to be selecting teams based on current standings, then seeding based on RPI. http://www.bracketmatrix.com

RE: Bracket Projections
Just for fun of course, but ESPN has us playing our old friends Maryland in Providence.
