Proud of Giddy and the 3 pt. shooting but I'd be a lot happier if MT could shoot free throws as well as a junior high team! Even Giddy went one for two from the line at the end of the FIU game last night.

I would be a lot happier if we would design more plays to get him open looks. He ought to shoot it a lot more.

Not a slam but after what I'd heard about him I wasn't real impressed against us. Maybe just an off night but Stevie Browning shut him down for 35 minutes.

You got a short memory then, because he hit eight 3s against Marshall last year in Murphy Center.

Awesome name. He's currently in 4th in 3-point percentage:

http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketba...eldGoalPct

I only know this because the list of "qualified" shooters (which seems to be a minimum of 2 attempts per game) is led by Connor Burchfield out of W&M (shooting 61-62%).

Yeah him and every other player on our schedule last year. We created a lot of career nights last year for lots of players. This year we held him to 6 field points and 4 fouls shots and got him fouled out of the game. I imagine he'll do better against us in the boro, though.

Yeah, I was going to say, "Who gives a Frenchman's Fark what the hell he did last year against us?" That doesn't matter one hill of wombat dung. He didn't do anything against us this year.

That being said, I'm sure he'll have a much better game against us on his home floor.

Really? All we are saying is that what the kid did last year doesn't matter and that we shut him down last game and that he'll probably have a much better game in Murphreesboro. How is that out of line?

RE: Giddy Potts is the deadliest three point shooter in college basketball
There is a fairly high correlation between his bad games (scoring-wise) and foul trouble. Hard to shoot threes when you are on the bench.

He has a history of picking up cheap fouls, reaching in or being lazy defensively.

This has been something Kermit has been trying to coach him up on since he arrived, so he can stay in the game. He's done a lot better this year than he did as a freshman last year.

If he's on the floor we're better if for no other reason than he helps spread the floor. I would like to see him shoot more, but he is not able to create his on three point shot. He's a catch a shoot guy. He is good at putting the ball on the floor and getting to the rim, so if he ever figures out how to create for himself beyond the arc he's going to become one of the most dangerous players in the country.

Makes perfect sense.04-cheers

Definition of bad game: See "Nick Smith vs MTSU 2015"... That kid still hasn't fully recovered from that one.
