The Saints are right up against the salary cap this year but don't have any significant free agents to re-sign and they are 75million under the cap next year (Panthers are 67mil under next year with less players signed). That number will go down when Brees is extended and some other moves are made...but the "cap hell" ends after this season.

As for fan loyalty....we've had losing seasons three of the past four years yet the season ticket waiting list continues to grow.

Your $75 million isn't taking into account what they will have to sign Brees for. I doubt he takes anything less than $20 million.

Panthers already have their big guys (Cam and Luke) locked down. Their decisions over the next 2 years will have to be made on KK Short, Josh Norman, and Star Lotulelei. Wouldn't be surprised to the Panthers draft all defense players in this years draft.

Your cap hit for 2017 without Drew Brees is $78M, how exactly is that number going down when they sign him? Seems like you are the one having trouble differentiating between 2016 and 2017.

Either way they are going to suck for a long time 04-cheers04-rock

I said "75 mil under the cap." I'm talking cap space not cap number. The cap space will go down when they extend Brees...But not enough to put them in "cap hell."
