I had to look up our strength and conditioning guy. His name is Justin Lovett. We had very few injuries this year and as games went on we wore teams down. Part of that could just be we had better depth but I can't believe we have that much more depth than the rest of the conference.

Good for you guys for keeping one of the people you believe made you successful.

My one game snapshot, I'm glad we have our guy.

Here's a 2nd one-game snapshot for you:

He was literally the most inaccurate passer I've ever seen. Most of his throws weren't even close to receivers.

talking trash

Oct 4th 2014 has ZERO to do with the amount of injuries S. Miss had in their last 2 CUSA games. Those could have been just freak accidents or could have been the wear and tear on the body. Either way ...Oct 4th 2014 played no role in it

I can assure you that Rickey Bustle has a lot to do with *my* drinking problem.

Zac is more than a typical assistant coach. He is a leader. With a little luck/break he will be a head coach one day.

I didn't realize we had never played in a bowl game. Thanks for that (incorrect) piece of information.

All I know is a couple weeks before we played USM there was a multi-page thread dedicated to a strength and conditioning guy that basically said he warranted a statue on the quad of the USM campus.

Fast forward to the conference championship game and I saw about 12 different guys doing this:

I think they've played in one, but they lost. It was the legendary 2004 season where they went 7-5, which is still the high point in what passes for UAB football history.

Man o man, this guy was a total joke. I remember a player's father saying that early on during his short stint with us, Maples told the team, "You don't need to stretch. Does a cheetah stretch before it runs down its prey? Stretching is for p*ssies."

Ah, the memories.

The following is from a friend who worked at USM when Maples was hired:

"weight lifting for football is the same today as it was 25 years ago when i was here"

My story: A player told me when they went out on the field for that first game at Nebraska the players were just loitering about at the point where the upperclassmen knew they should be doing their pregame warm ups. Maples gathers them up and says "OK boys, what do you want to do?" He said the players just looked around like WTH!

Firstly, I was neither talking to you nor talking smack/trash.

Secondly, the person I actually WAS talking to said that he only had a one-game snapshot of Zac Woodfin's performance...and I provided him another date in which he witnessed Zac Woodfin's work on the field.

Thirdly, I would have posted that date whether it was a win or loss because it was actual empirical evidence that WKU had faced a Zac Woodfin S&C team twice.

Now go back to playing banjo, drinking moonshine, and eating KFC...or whatever the hell else you do in western Kentucky.

Again I see you failed to see the context and yes you were trying to talk trash just as you are now. Honestly do you really think what someone from Alabama says about people in KY is going to bother me? Really?

the context goes something like this...

we are in the 13th game of the season where strength and conditioning usually shows is late in the season. Not the 5th.

But that doesn't matter because say what you want...your post had everything to do about UAB winning that game. If not it was just a date because I failed to see any injury report on either team from that game. But I do recall a couple of UAB players going down late in that game. Maybe more earlier. I know for a fact you wasn't there so any account you have is from reading about it in the paper.

Now you can go back and leave the football talk to us

not a problem cletus...

your implied posit that Zac's methodology was responsible for that injury riddled half is an amazingly misguided and baseless cause/effect rationale

so yeah, "clueless" applies in this situation if one views the S&C guy being at fault for the rash of injuries that occurred in that half....

It was not "just a date"...it was literally the only other time a WKU fan would have seen a Zach Woodfin strength and conditioning coached program. Which is the point...because his statement was that he only had one game to judge him by...when there was another one he could have used...and, win or lose, even hanging with the prolific offense of Western Kentucky after the 2013 season UAB had shows the results of Woodfin. And if we sucked, lost, and half our players were on the sideline from injury, it would still be another data point for him to use in his judgment.

Quote: I know for a fact you wasn't there...

First off, I couldn't help but read this in a thick, Kentuckian accent. 03-lmfao Secondly, you don't know "for a fact" that I wasn't at the game. Do you know me? Do you know my whereabouts on that exact date at that exact time? Get out of here. Was I there? No, I was not. But you don't know anything "for a fact"...unless that's how science works in Kentucky.

I'm done arguing with you about this, especially since I wasn't talking to you to begin with.

Bad luck? Don't see it discussed much by football fans, but there is such a thing as random misfortune.

your implied posit that Zac's methodology was responsible for that injury riddled half is an amazingly misguided and baseless cause/effect rationale

so yeah, "clueless" applies in this situation if one views the S&C guy being at fault for the rash of injuries that occurred in that half....

What caused it then?

Sunspots? Phase of the moon?

Guys rolling around on the ground shouting 'man down!' Is directly tied to the S&C program. Or our guys are just badasses that whooped up on yours in spite of superior conditioning.

lofl.

Bad luck? Don't see it discussed much by football fans, but there is such a thing as random misfortune.

they are in the land of the pristine now.....humility is not the mantra in ky jello

Either our guys were just bigger and stronger and whipping on your guys. Or your guys weren't conditioned well. It was the 13th game so it could've been a cumulative effect.

October 4, 2014.

Wow a UAB football fan trying his hand at smack/trash talk. Just seems funny a fan of any team that doesn't have a team, well, I guess they do, but still a fan of a team that has never played in a bowl game...

talking trash

Oct 4th 2014 has ZERO to do with the amount of injuries S. Miss had in their last 2 CUSA games. Those could have been just freak accidents or could have been the wear and tear on the body. Either way ...Oct 4th 2014 played no role in it
