Rumors started this morning that willie simmons may be joining our staff.

What is the word on him? Did he leave middle on his own

He resigned mid-season in 2011 after he was arrested for aggravated assault. I'm pretty sure it was a mutual parting of ways though.

Heard today the assault was on his girlfriend. Is that true? Were charges ever filed?

That was true, unfortunately. Not sure what the ultimate disposition of the charges were. He kind of just went away.

I want to say it was a girlfriend and I have no idea if charges were filed

If he keeps doing good at PVAMU then he will get a chance

I thought he did well here, his offense was very good and he was a good recruiter.

He has some off the field trouble that caused him and MT to part ways. He's a good coach, i'm glad he's not heading to USM.

He choked out his girlfriend. His first and only year as OC was 2011. We went 2-10 that year. He wasn't that great. I think he only called 3-4 games. We were 1-3 I think before the WKU game which he didn't coach because he got arrested.

sometimes 'those' can become the best hire....and 'sum' drives 'em off the cliff

fanatics with 'stew' are the real issue....personality within localized culture is the problem that I'm praying has finally been resolved (some just won't let go)
