Men's BB Offer Post High School Graduate Wing Player for 2016 Class
Verbalcommits.com reports that Toledo has offered Don Bosco Prep post graduate 6-6 Wing Player, Destin Barnes for the 2016 Class. Barnes is a big time shooter who has the ability to guard multiple positions on the floor. He is currently averaging 25 ppg. He was not a highly recruited player coming out of Chicago area Homewood-Flossmoor High School as he was a standout baseball player who didn’t focus on basketball until his senior season.

How many scholarships do we have left? We have one verbal already, and I assume a scholarship will be used for the Marquette transfer. Do we only have 1 "unspoken for" for next season?

He may have to guard multiple positions at the same time because nobody else is guarding anybody. :)

Of course Haymon was coming off a three game average of 22 ppg and was averaging 17+ on the year. Somebody guarded him. And WMU had almost no success using the baseline back cuts that have killed us in the past, either. Wish they'd exert that kind of effort against some of the good teams.

Might be a case of learning something every game. Like to go back and replay some of those teams, particularly Oakland and see who climbed steepest on their learning curve.

We have one additional scholarship available for next year that includes the returning 9 players along with Taylor Knapke and the 2016 commit. Coach K has said on his radio show this season that he might look for a transfer to take that last scholarship. We will have 4 scholarships available for the 2017 class with the graduation of Williams, Lauf, Garber and Taylor next season.

I have a gut feeling that 1 player will transfer out after this year, giving us two scholarships for next season instead of the one.

Toledo does not have any "verbals".... Gordon signed his LOI in November during the early signing period.

RE: Men's BB Offer Post High School Graduate Wing Player for 2016 Class
may well be a transfer out, most college teams these days have one or two a year. however, it is noticeable how positive and focused the end of bench players have been this year. Adway and White are consistently laughing, joking, listening in during huddles, chest bumping teammates. There isn't a lot of pouting or acting disappointed that I'm not in the game. I would think the staff wants Adway to stay. He's physically very gifted and also has some skills, just needs time to adjust to college game, learn his role, and develop. White is gonna have a tough time seeing the floor next year behind sanford and williams at the off guard , plus navigato might develop into more of a swingman if his ball handling improves and the 2016 signee is a wing player too. White's game seems to need the right system (a team who plays rugged and encourages a lot of driving). He strikes me as one of those guys who can play D1 but might be really good at a lower level.
