I note that BG signed a 6'2", 155 pound receiver. Should be successful since defensive backs won't be able to see him.

He'll probably run his routes sideways for that very reason.

With the wind down there, they're going to have to tie his shoelaces to the bench so he doesn't turn into a kite.

Hmmm...if he catches the ball while in mid-air, but then keeps floating and crosses the goal line, is it a TD? I say no, because he never came down with the ball and established possession!

Depends on the wind direction. It might end up a safety.

I really like this class. The coaches have 4 solid D-Linemen including the ND transfer. I definitely feel better about the DB situation. Speed, size, and skill are pretty abundant. The O-Lineman is a guy you cant pass up. He looks ready for the 2 deep. He pancaked quite a few guys on video after locking up well. There is some real talent in the wide-out group. A number of those guys will challenge for playing time. There are 3 really nice RBs as well.

I am an optimist by nature, but I am trying to be reasonable here. I think the coaches did a fantastic job.

We'll see how they transition to the college game. Certainly are some guys who have all-MAC potential. I do wish we had taller receivers, but if they're fast enough height won't matter.

We are now going to have 20 DB's on the roster for next year?? What the hell?? Of those, only 3 will be seniors. I understand some of those will likely never see the field and may be walk-ons, so the list of actual "contributors" is likely much lower. I would also assume a number of those coming in will be RS'ed as needed.

Lots of injuries and defections at that position. Has to be the toughest position to play in this era of wide open, fast-paced offenses.

I might add that we are hurting at LB. Woodley, Coleman, and Quinn are the top returnees, but after that - not much playing time other than special teams. Chris Norwood's injuries are hurting us at that position. I assume he will not be playing in 2016??

ESPN ranks our class 2nd in the MAC. Pretty darn good for a staff that has been together for 2 months. I was impressed with the speed and the athleticisim of the recruites.

"DB's" have flexible athleticism and size, they can play lots of positions and they're really good on special teams. Maybe that's the thought process, as long as it doesn't leave other positions starving.

I would expect Taafe to contribute, he had a nice year on special teams as a frosh.

Olekanma played some at LB as well. He has a big frame and should turn into a good ILB for us.

Linch was fearless and always around the ball on special teams IIRC. He may be in the mix too.

Not an exact quote, but Candle said at the media presser that the day of the big LB crashing into the line is over, and that's why he recruited two safety/LB hybrids.
