Marshall top recruiting class in CUSA it appears
Nice day for the Herd. A record, Four, 4 star recruits and 11 3 star. Incluing the #3 ILB in the nation and a scout top 100 recruit.

Lets hope none of these kids fall through the cracks before they see the field. Good work to FAU as well, averaging .10 less than MU in avg rating. UAB was 2nd on scout, about 600 pts behing the herd (roughly 1400 to 800)

Wow! This has to be our best class ever I would think. Let's hope these "stars" translate into wins on the field.

If you go by Scout some in the conference have no presence in their system like us. If you don't have an active presence the info is going to be skewed negatively to the low end.

That's the problem with these sites. If you think you're getting an accurate depiction on where you rank nationally or even within the league I have some ocean front property in AZ. Great deal. PM me.

I think our class is good, not spectacular. And we had nowhere near the 28 slots available that Marshall did.

Nothing to do with Marshall's class but overall I think we are seeing a lot more kids rated 3* that would have been a 2 just a few years ago. Same thing is happening in basketball...

with this internet thingy and more and more high school games on it the more kids are seen by these so called experts raters

as with most things in life...fit is the most important piece to the puzzle

Case in point:

Rivals has USM, MT, and La Tech 80, 82, and 85, respectively.

Scout has the same schools 109, 106, and 117.

Pretty large discrepancy.

On Rivals, by total points it's UAB, Marshall and USM. By average star ranking it is USM, Marshall and UAB.

I know our ranking is due in part to the large number of signees, but Clark did a god job of getting quality guys.

Marshall has moved to first on the 247 composite rankings, which levels out some of the discrepancies among the different rating sites.

That's because Scout sucks and only has 10 of our commitments.

Does 247 take into consideration the non qualifiers each school has signed?

247 has Marshall, UAB and USM. If you got by Average Player score, it's Marshall, LaTech, USM.

UAB has to fill this class the NCAA allowed us to sign. The good news is this is by far the most talent UAB has ever signed in the history of the program, regardless of how many signed.
Next season UAB will be able to fill in gaps we find this spring and fall and target some quality guys. Plus, we won't have to fight the "you won't play for a whole season" line.

Do the UAB signees get, in effect, a free year? Meaning does next year not count against the 5 to play 4 timetable? If it doesn't, you could have a number of 6 year players in a couple of years. Be prepared for the excuses for your success being the presence of all those old men on your squad from a couple of fan bases that will remain nameless.

JUCOs get a free year. Incoming freshmen will use their redshirt.

Nope. Non-qualifiers don't count. Props get dropped.

Correct, next year does not count against eligibility.
