Rivals has Falcon listed as a three star. Once he committed verbally to WMU he lost a star.

...which once again speaks to the validity of recruiting ratings.

Falcon was once a blue chip prospect, the kid from Brother Rice only had one D1 tangible and that was his 40 time.

Jealousy can be toxic.

Looks like another outstanding recruiting class. It will be fun to watch it grow and develop in Kalamazoo these next few years.

04-cheers

It does appear on paper Fleck and staff have again done a very good job recruiting.

Kudos to them.

As we all know though, you never know for two, three, years plus.

Fleck himself has been quoted as saying this is an "eight-year process."

Which of course fits his contract extension from last year.

Also - it appears that losing three assistant coaches did not significantly hurt our recruiting class.

That is a credit to Fleck and staff too.

I think Williams is the one that pulled Guillory, who looks to at least have some potential as a DE. They've obviously been pounding the 2017 pavement, so it will be interesting to see if there is a drop off in two particular areas...Indiana and Metro Detroit. These were Reynolds and Hart's main areas.

It's definitely a process and it appears to be heading in the right direction in my opinion. I try to tone down my excitement on signing days just because in college football, you go through any teams recruiting classes and three years later, there is always attrition.

Replacing Reynolds with Jimmy Williams may be the best move Fleck's made all year. Instant credibility. Should be fun to watch what he and Pinkham do with the DT's and DE's in this class!

He has cred in Detroit from his time with EMU and 12 years with the Lions. Reynolds had more established recruiting contacts in Detroit. I feel bad for Creighton. Because recruiting to EMU is so difficult it's easy to poach his assistants, who likely get tired of coming up with a bs line to sell kids on Eastern.

RE: Top end of the 2016 class
At a reception at Heritage Hall on signing night, Fleck spoke about each recruit, all were positive comments as expected that this another really good class. Despite losing some coaches and players.

In regard to Falcon, it was acknowledged that Falcon had two recent ACL's. Coach Fleck stated that he was going to bring him along slow, making very sure that he is completely recovered before any contact.

Remember David Kool had ACL and MSU dropped him, David probably one of the finest BB players in WMU history!
David Brown had two ACLs and he played his last two years without incident, surgery is getting better with these injuries.

Creighton has no problems getting quality assistants, actually its honor to him when other teams decide to pouch his staff like our CB going to Jacksonville. You can say many things about Creighton but one thing I assure you is there nothing about this guy that is bs. I've met the guy face to face and if you think PJ is intense try Creighton.

It's not really an honor when they are getting poached from within your conference. It's borderline embarrassing.

I have hopes this kid picks up where Braverman left off... He played all over the field in HS and might end up on the defensive side of the ball, but he's a baller and could pick up wherever Fleck puts him out there... Losing Braverman is going to take at least two players to fill his production this next year and I think Hunter could be one of those players.
