I don't know how to feel since the Press Conference of Hopson
All I know is I was pumped about the possibilities of USM football in 2016...now since Monken has resigned and Hopson was chosen, I just don't know!

Jay Hopson very well could be the right man, but I'm really worried about our offensive strategy without a true OC. I hope he brings in one that can keep the pace going.

Is Hopson keeping all Monken's assistants?

Seems he would bring someone with him.

Seems like hiring a guy that's gone 32-17 with two division titles and one conference title would be a pretty good hire.

Some USM fans just don't understand why USM couldn't hire Nick Saban. What I am seeing by some USM fans is blaming our AD for not getting a better hire. I have yet to read one comment from a USM fan blaming Monken for this mess. Given the hand dealt him with the timing of this coaching change, I think our AD did an excellent job.

I could have put this in any of the USM/Hopson threads. This one seems as good as any:

With the NCAA hammer about to come down at Ole Miss, any chance USM scoops up any of their stud recruits, or will they all likely end up in Starkville, etc? (the ones that leave)

I think we've got at least as good a shot as the leg-humpers. More realistically, Bama, UGA, etc. will have their pick.

You forget.. it's the SEC... cause Ole Miss broke the rules, USM will have to forgo scholarships to make things correct. Or something like that.

I fail to get the correlation. If this had been after the 2014 season, when Monken had called the plays then you might be on to something.

You could probably count how many plays he called last season on one hand, and I'm probably being generous.
