BTW, I didn't get to see it play out but apparently some wkcc fan had an utter melt down on Twitter after the game and got banned from Twitter. Anyone know anything about it?

Figured it was either yg or toppersontop. LOL

To say that's not even close is just looking thru blue tinted glasses, as I would expect. That being said, it really could have gone either way. I don't fault the refs in that situation. The Johnson one I have a problem with. Up 2, got the block, with momentum... down the tubes.
I personally didn't see any meltdowns on twitter, but I don't follow ToT. I'm certain Guns doesn't have twitter, so it wasn't him.

The ball is outside the cylinder and already on its way down when he taps it. Look again.

It was definitely ToT. Same terms. Same racism that got him banned here. What should be really embarrassing for WKU is that despite his previous racist rants WKU athletics gave that kid an internship. That kid is a blackeye for your university.

From NCAA website:

Quote:Section 5. Basket Interference
Art. 1. The ball shall be considered to be within the basket when any part of
the ball is below the cylinder and the level of the ring.
Art. 2. Basket interference occurs when a player:
a. Touches the ball or any part of the basket while the ball is on or
within the basket;
b. Touches the ball while any part of it is within the cylinder that has
the ring as its lower base;
c. Reaches through the basket from below and touches the ball before
it enters the cylinder; or
d. Pulls down a movable ring so that it contacts the ball before the ring
returns to its original position.
Art. 3. A player may have a hand legally in contact with the ball, when this
contact continues after the ball enters the cylinder or when, in such action,
the player touches or grabs the basket.

RE: It's on, WKU.
I'm one of the fans that at first glance thought it was goaltending, but after review, think otherwise.

Saturday's game was just strange, but entertaining. First half, MTSU dominates (38-16). Second half, WKU dominates (46-30). Just a fun, energetic game in Diddle that unfortunately my team lost. I'll say this about MTSU, you all should be very proud of this team. You're long, athletic, and just about everyone on the floor can shoot the rock. We had no one that could guard Harris, and he ultimately made us pay for the tip-in. Seeing UAB and MTSU back to back let me put them two into perspective, and I think when both teams play their best, MTSU wins. It'll be tough to beat them in Birmingham, but I have no doubt WKU, MTSU, Marshall and other teams will be out to get them. The RPI doesn't reflect it, but this conference is entertaining.

Can't believe you just said that , MT players got away with murder tonight

The foul count went heavily in Western KY's favor. You guys were shooting free throws every time you went down the court in the second half. Several times we had clean blocks and the refs would call fouls. It was ridiculous. Not worried about playing you guys at home or if we meet in the tournament. We are the much better team and proved it by running the lead up to nearly 20 in the first half. You guys had the least athletic team that I have seen in CUSA along with Rice.

Ladies' game FT: MT 31; WKU 16
Men's game FT MT 21; WKU 27

Do you want to minimize the Lady Raider's game because of a foul discrepancy? It looks on the surface that MT got the better end of the home cooking officiating on Saturday.
Did not watch the Ladies' game so am not saying there was bad officiating; just making the point that the fact that WKU shot a few more free throws does not mean that they were getting an advantage from the officials. Personally, I thought the bald referee called the worst game I have ever seen and do not understand how he got a job at the college level.
A good tight game that MT won. Enjoy your victory without the griping.
PS Much better teams don't blow 20 point leads

Well hard to argue with much other than the last sentence. College kids lose focus in blow outs. Happens often. See: 2014 Bahamas Bowl. I think you were the much better team.

I was at the women's game on Saturday and a large part of that discrepancy is that Western did a ton of fouling in the last couple of minutes to try and stay in the game.

I didn't get to see the game, but at one point when I looked online I recall seeing the fouls were 22 to 6.

I watched the women's game but deleted it on the DVR. Are there photos or video from the game? Because MTSU must make up attendance numbers out of thin air. No way there were 5000 there from what I remember. Or were all the people were where cameras wouldn't show them.

Most of the crowd was out of view from the cameras. The home side was almost packed and the away side was much more full above where the cameras could see. I would say 5,000 wasn't that far off. Student section filled in as the game went along, too.

Yep -- total capacity is just under 12,000 so 5k would look sparse still.

From what I remember the bleachers weren't pulled out and the lower bowl on the side the cameras showed was maybe 1000 people and that's being generous. Until I see photos or video I won't believe there was anywhere near 5000. You Marshall and SMU like to talk attendance smack about our football and basketball well we report actual button in seats. There are some teams like FIU and FAU that are flat out lying with their attendance numbers.

Could be wrong but I don't believe I've ever seen an MT fan dog Western about attendance. Our own numbers suck so why would we be slamming anyone?

"Could be wrong but I don't believe I've ever seen an MT fan dog Western about attendance"? Take a look at what I pulled out of the very first post in this thread.
"unlike what WKU is used to seeing since we average 3x as many fans as the Toppers.." So yes a MT fan was dogging our attendance. And you want to call us a bunch of Hillbillies? Trust me people on the coasts view people from Tennessee as a bunch of backwards white trash rednecks. And for one thing I was born in Morristown Tennessee, but grew up outside of Bowling Green with family from both Kentucky and Tennessee. So this trashing other people that you are no better than is pathetic. If you want to be upset when I question your attendance numbers after the very first post had attendance smack then fine.
