I'm still disappointed UAB couldn't beat UCLA for us last year. I hope this year you go further than Bama again to make it clear who the premier program in Alabama actually is
I wanted SMU.
We have, this season, 1 senior, 3 juniors and 6 sophomores in the rotation. The youngest team in the NCAA tourney wasn't ready for UCLA last year.

Who have you played?
They are 17-3
They are rated at #123 in KenPom.
Real Time RPI: #102
Losses to Auburn, Illinois, and VaTech
Best win probably Middle TN st.
Looking at their schedule I don't see them getting an at large. Just not a good schedule left even if they won out. They would need to win the CUSA tourney me thinks. Could be wrong.
We've beaten absolutely no one. We won't even be on the bubble even if we win out... But we still have the longest streak in D1 right now.
17-3 nothing to be ashamed of. At least it looks good on paper lol. I wish we had your record.

Two of our top scorers graduated, one of whom was our starting PG, both who played great defense. Our new PG, Josh Brown, did play significant minutes last year, but it's a big learning curve as would be expected. We also have 3 freshman who are getting big minutes.

Not to make it seem simple, but I feel like Temple was a bad 3 point shooting team for most the year and has been hitting big three point shots in their two wins against UC and their win against SMU. that helps.

It's not a too simple explanation, it's an accurate explanation. The better you shoot, the more likely you win. Devin Coleman was 7 for 7 from 3 yesterday.

Did not see the SMU/Temple game but what a great win for the Owls and gives them a 5-2 conference record. Nice! You also beat the Cats twice and have my respect. Good luck the rest of the way Owl Nation.

Seems like Temple made a 'mistake' (if you can call 20+ wins a mistake) last season trying to get Cummings into a hero-ball roll. It seems like the team might have made the tourney last season if they had played better team ball. Good thing they decided to do so this season... best of luck to the Owls going forward! (Except vs. Tulsa)

Coach Dunphy can coach and does a great job developing guys. However, he is an average recruiter at best. That has always been his biggest problem (along with his performance in the tournament).

Thanks! Tulsa beat us twice last year, hope to return the favor.

It is too bad one of us can't take Pastner's recruiting and combine it with Dunph's coaching. That would be a scary combination.
It is also funny as this argument always comes up on the Temple message boards. Pastner is always the guy the Dunphy supporters bring up as a great recruiter who can't coach.

Will Cummings and Jesse Morgan. Two top scorers and two great defenders.

Um, Jesse Morgan might be the worst defender at Temple in the last 10 years.

I’ve got to agree here, when he was on Morgan was a great shooter (however he had cold spells that would kill), but his defense was hit or miss at best.
What this years team is missing is a true point guard. If Cummings was on this roster with his quickness and ability to drive to the basket, with the new rules where any contact is a foul, Temple would be looking at a top 25 ranking. I like Josh Brown a lot, he plays great defense and has hit some huge shots but he’s NOT the answer at the point.

Jesse Morgan was the king of matador defense. He got some steals, but he'd get blown by frequently.
As far as Brown, he hasn't scored as much as I thought he would, but his defense is phenomenal. He hits some big shots, but he needs to drive more. Hopefully Alani Moore is the answer.

I couldn’t agree more on Morgan, I was actually going to use the term “Olé defense”. I’m hoping the same for Moore but it takes a really special kid to step into the point guard role as a freshman and really contribute. Watching Nic Moore for the past 2 years makes me think if he can even just get close to that level Temple will be in really good shape. I’ve only seen the few clips floating around on Alani but the potential is there.
Obi has me worried this season. Based on how he progressed last season I was really expecting him to step into a much bigger role this year. I was really expecting 25 – 35 minutes, 12 – 15 points and 6 – 8 rebounds per game conservatively. He just doesn’t seem in the flow at all, like he’s thinking too much and picking up way too many early fouls because he’s often caught out of position or lets himself get backed into the paint way too deep. Any inside word on him? Funny to see that the Owls were hurting for size so badly that Devontae Watson was brought out of the witness relocation program for yesterday’s game.

Don't take this as an insult or anger but your problem is you have not suffered from the number of twenty point a$$ whoppings we have. It gives you a whole new perspective. Your team has always represented your university well. We on the other hand have had our a$$ handed to us in a hat alot.
