Marshall exploring beer sales at Edwards Stadium
Officials within the Marshall athletics department confirmed they are exploring beer sales at Joan C. Ewards Stadium, as a means to enhance the gameday experience and generate additional revenue in light of TV contract reductions.

WKU was a little hesitant going this route at first, but it has been a tremendous success. Lots of extra revenue, enhanced game day experience, and very few alcohol related problems. Has been a great decision.

Legion Field sold beer last couple of seasons. No problems other than occasionally running out.

Sadly this is not an option in North Carolina. Our University System has banned bear sell at events across all campuses. You can get a "free" beer if you pay to attend a pre-game function or give a huge donation for halftime beverages, but no direct beer sells.

U of MD started that this season. They were expecting over $500,000 in beer sales. Not sure if they met that number or not.

I was never in favor of them selling bears during the game anyway.

Well I know that if it ever gets as cold as it did at the game at Kentucky inside The Rich, then folks might appreciate the added body heat a bear can bring.

Western fans must love buying beer at football games...lines are always long. Beer prices at Western are in line with a large coke...I believe it's a dollar more. Not only that our fans love it so much the vendors at the Miami Bowl were having a hard time keeping up.....

at $12 a beer. Could have gotten a endless coke for $8. The guy sitting next to me had 7 ($84) before I stopped counting and let him take over the end of the row seat.

You don't have alcohol related incidents at Wku because you have to stand in line for 30 minutes to get a friggin beer. Slowest concession line I ever stood in.

I'll tell you who has beer sales down, it's Akron. They have those dispensers that fill from the bottom, very cool. Fill up a 16 ounce plastic cup in a flash. Only problem was they weren't used to people coming to to the game. We drank the visitors side dry by half time.

If you haven't seen one of these systems, which they say can fill 44 pints per minute, check it out.

That last game (Marshall?) they wouldn't give you the can, and poured it into a plastic cup which slowed things to a crawl. Vendor told me it was because "they're afraid y'all will throw full cans at Ray Watts."

They actually have those at the West Virginia Power games, too. The down side is that if you've never had one before, and happen to carry one from the bottom for whatever reason, you can push up on that little bottom lid and beer spills everywhere from the bottom. I learned that lesson the hard way.

They sent out a survey about it. I said yes. Makes no sense to not sell beer at the stadium. And i don't drink.

I love living in the South, but I never see this happening at USM because of reasons.

FAU started with just the club level, but last year they setup in General admission. No problems that I heard of and at 7 bucks for Domestic and 8 for Imported I imagine they are making a pretty penny.

If ODU did this we could exclusively sell local beer and I don't think many would bat an eye.

there's a reason that 19th century ocd drug addicts/alcholics-->temperance movement-->prohibition-->amendment XXI-->liquor advertising allowed-->waiting for ciggy butt advertising-->opium den vacations 03-wink

it's how the masses try to tame and sacrifice these days....

matters not to me (for obvious reasons)....all I have to worry about is the glare those laser as I pour...

it's all about survival, business, and how one judges morality over the experience of the even....wasn't too long ago witch burnin', hangin's, and gladiator festival pig roasts were acceptable....

shite, our neighboring county is still 'dry' for crying out loud.....

legislating morality is all stupido to me....let 'em feast or famine is okay in my book...

As a WKU student, I know alcohol sales at our games have gotten me in trouble a time or two. :)

I thought about smuggling a pint of bleach into the games in 2011 and 2012
