RE: So---If The AAC Loses Two Members, What Do We Do?
I still say add western division (true western division): Boise, SDSU, AF, Col st and try and lure BYU and give in to their sunday rules.
In fact, I say do this whether UC/UCONN stay or bolt. I think the AAC should do this. It kills the MWC (closest competitor to the AAC) and adds pretty good football/hoops to the AAC in the same stroke.
The only way I wouldn't do this is if the B12 doesn't expand. Because if they don't expand they won't be around when the tv contract ends...which means there will be a few schools who need a home (kstate, wva, iowa st etc.) and so the AAC will be in a position to offer that home.

Southern Miss is a perfect fit but all the yankees on the board will cry about it being a school for dumbs.

If Army wants in add them and someone else. If not no one. The dream for me is all 3 service academies in the league, but not sure it will ever be feasible.

I could care less about the dumb western schools. I like being able to watch my team play at decent times on Saturday.
Id rather keep things Southern and East Coast.
Southern and Army are plenty for me.

If we are not getting a bigger check, adding a far west team makes no sense. We would keep 10 FB playing schools and add 3 Olympic schools just to keep sports programs like baseball alive. Tulsa and SMU don't play.

Southern Miss deserves a spot.
They kicked the hell out of the best AAC teams for years.
Army makes a good partner for Navy.
Also consider adding a West division
Boise State, BYU, Air Force, San Diego State, Colorado State,

There are no good teams in the West? Or you just don't want to watch them?
Just curious.

Stand pat for now. Only consider additions if some combination of the below is available:
BYU/Boise
BYU/AFA
AFA/CSU
AFA/Army
That's it. Any cUSA adds will hurt us. One of these 4 scenarios or nothing.
The key for AAC long term survival is if they can make it unscathed to the next TV deal.
The AAC signs a nice deal and the is subsequently raided the value is going to be enough to attract suitable replacements. If they lose schools before the next TV deal the AAC might not make it.
B12 is going to make it regardless of what is said. First not all 10 are going to be placed into the SEC, PAC, B1G and ACC. Secondly its a legally a P5 conference something highly valued and that will attract replacements. With title games permitted the B12 will only need to reload to 8-9 schools to retain that P5 quality.
BYU I believe will only consider an AAC with an upgraded TV contract. If that is not the fate of the AAC they may reconsider MWC membership taking Rice with them.

If Cincy and Uconn go I really think game over for us. Contract and exposure will will be much worse next time around.

what a bunch of babies...
Big12 gets their champ game and moves on with 10 members playing a round robin schedule...same as it ever was until Big12 tv renegotiations in 2023ish

I agree. I do not see anyone leaving anytime soon. The TV contract is not going up fpor any of the 10 D-1 leagues, probably down for most. Our first priority should be a Access bowl tie in and improvement in the overall bowl line up.

SEC makes $527.4M in 2014-15, a 62% increase during 1st year of CFP & SEC Network
Add GSU, then Merge and join the SEC
That's a lot of simoleons.

Depends on how many the AAC loses, who the AAC loses, and when. If its 2--and they lose them prior to the next TV deal--I wont matter that much. A 10 team AAC would be just fine. They could add Wichita--maybe a couple of A10 non-football schools and soldier on. The CCG would still survive with 10 teams due to the new rules. Then use the TV negotiations with ESPN to figure out if there are any expansion scenarios that ESPN likes and is willing to pay for. Frankly, I think we will probably do an extension with an increased pay rate within the next 2 years.

Western expansion. 6 football schools and BYU for olympics. Destroy the MWC.

RE: So---If The AAC Loses Two Members, What Do We Do?
One week it's Memphis/Cincy, then it's Memphis/Houston, then it's Cincy/UConn, then it's Cincy/Houston, and then come UCF and USF as the next possible fits. Hell, we even had a poster on our board who supposedly has a for sure insider guarantee him that Memphis/Cincy were sure locks to join the Big XII and an announcement was coming soon, that was over a month ago. Bottom line is, no one knows what the hell's gonna happen. If it were to happen that the AAC lost a couple of schools, then my recommendation would be to stand pat with 10. Hopefully if we do have to expand, no CUSA schools would even be considered, been there done that. BYU would be great, but don't see it happening (for many reasons), but as a Memphis fan I'd love to see it. So, I guess the best thing to do, for us as fans is to just sit back and enjoy the games. All this other stuff, of which we have no control over will eventually be worked out. In the meantime, I'm just glad my school's in the best of the rest conferences. Things could be worse.
