This is the definition of a trap game

Every game we win to add to our streak makes the next game a "trap game" from now on. We just have to get used to that (I hope).

No, that is not what a trap game is. Odu was never a trap game. Charlotte officially is.

If we can get past Charlotte, Rice becomes the trap game, then UNT. Every game where the opponent is less than stellar will be a trap game. That's just the nature of the game. This is a pretty special team. This is turning into a pretty special season.

Every game cannot be a trap game. To me a trap game generally comes after a hard fought game where one team is clearly superior on paper.

Just as easily as we could have lost to ODU we could just as easily be undefeated on the road this year. We are playing much better. It's hard to win on the road no matter who you are. That's why you see less and less power teams giving non power teams games. Everyone has players and on any given night someone can go off. Sometimes players make plays. Sometimes yours don't

No basketball team is perfect in every facet and I think too often we expect UAB to be perfect. No one is.

From what I have seen in person we are simply better than we were last year and that includes the road.

I definitely agree, and our road record to this point in this season compared to last bears that out.

A trap game is usually considered to be the game against a dangerous, but inferior opponent that you play between two perceived "key match-ups". The idea is that you fight hard to win the first key match-up, and now you are looking ahead to the second one, but you overlook the game in between. It's a "trap" where you get caught possibly unprepared in between two big games.

Charlotte is not a trap game unless Rice somehow becomes a powerhouse in the next week. If we were to lose to Charlotte, it could be viewed as being a letdown game, after the emotional ODU game.

I agree that we are better on the road this year.

Not BB, but describes perfectly what happened to LSU early in the 2000 season. They played UAB (as Homecoming yet) between @ Auburn (LSU lost) and UTK (LSU won). As far as I know, that was the last OOC home game LSU has lost to this day.
