RE: UAB FB schedules series with Coastal Carolina
Coastal Carolina is expanding their stadium, to 24,000 I believe. They have been successful not only in FCS, but in baseball, soccer, and basketball. The Sun Belt had other teams they could have chosen (or others could have sought them out) but CCU was the best fit.

I think this is a good series for UAB, and I can imagine how exciting it is to get these OOC games announced. Welcome back Blazers!

Football game at Myrtle Beach. Regardless of the game, so many options to have a good time. Plus, respect the heck out of Coach Moglia.......he is a strong businessman that is doing what he loves. This team will be supported and competitive.

They say that about UAB, too.

Why do you care?

Because if FBS wasn't watered down with teams that weren't ever able to compete and likely won't ever be able to compete, we might have been able to trim the fat to around 96 teams. 8 12-team conferences or 6 16-team conferences. Either way you've got the ability to set up an equal share and a playoff system that is inclusive and actually means something. That also trickles down to recruiting, attendance, and TV dollars.

UAB is only talked about in that light by Alabama idiots.
Don't give them the credit of holding you back. You've lost a few battles but won the war. Had so many teams not watered down the product so badly, they wouldn't have succeeded in doing what they did to you in the first place, because you would have had equal footing. And that is why it matters to some and should matter to all.

It also waters down FCS. We were just discussing NDSU's 5th straight national championship in FCS. That's never been done before. Rarely back to back wins have been achieved. There are no more teams to stand in their way because many of the FCS powerhouses have moved up. Some succeeded at this level. Many, if not most, have not.

If we can go 3-1 in OOC games, who knows, we might just go bowling our first season back. We are playing in the C-USA West when we come back, after all. 05-stirthepot

I think we'll look a lot like 2015 Charlotte, lucky to win a game and be competitive in a few more.

I actually don't think that will be the case.

Because I believe UAB basketball can win against any opponent, even if they are down by 23 against SMU.

You don't start a football program from complete scratch and go undefeated. Clark is the right man for the job and will win. There are growing pains though.

* just looked up their stadium. Only seats 3,000 more than my old AA high school in WV. And ours had at least 3 standing room only games a season.
Why? We have been one of the best teams in the country the last 4 years. Really the only school to challenge NDSU in the playoffs. We produce NFL talent, and good NFL talent. I mean you are in a conference with ODU and UNCC for God's sake. They were both start ups.
