This is a very, very good class of kids coming to Western... Three in a row, wow..
Hold on, CMUDoc says Tony Poljian has spurned offers from MSU OKST and Nebraska to attend CMU. In addition BW says that a 4 Star OT who like Poljian, decommitted from Minni, may follow Poljian to CMU. So look for that 10th ranked class to jump to the top soon.

Allen Truie Scout.com responded to my tweet and said, "CMU is well in the lead for Poljian the last he'd heard. "

If everyone holds, this class will be even better than the 2014 class IMO. There are about 10 guys in this class that have double-digit offer lists, many of which include some very impressive P5 offers.
On the flip-side, it's interesting to note the 5 highest rated recruits in the 2014 class:
1. Lonnie Johnson
2. Chance Stewart
3. JaKevin Jackson
4. Chukwuma Okorafor
5. Javonte Seabury
We also had Jay Harris and Jordan Van Dort in this class (3 stars). Not trying to be skeptical, but found this interesting.

Poljian's father played at CMU about the same time Bonamego did. Going to CMU may make some sense for this kid, now that Enos is gone, and Bonamego has stated he prefers an up-tempo spread-option like Poljian ran at Lansing Catholic.
While I think it is unlikely he ends-up in Mount Pleasant, it would not surprise me.

I think the 2014 class is a little different because it was Fleck's first full recruiting class. He had a month to put together the 2013 class while getting the lay of the land in Kzoo, so that class doesn't really count. So in 2014 I feel like he took a scattershot strategy to see what stuck. There were lots of immediate needs and he took some chances on some guys. Some guys didn't make it to campus or later transferred, but he got a good core of players to start building the team.
The classes of 2015 and 2016 will be the strongest, deepest classes yet. To my knowledge, there is only one guy from the 2015 class (not counting grey shirts and such) that didn't make it to campus. The rest of the class seems well entrenched and ready to make an impact next year.
And I agree that the 2016 class is looking like the best one yet.

Literally half of our class is ranked higher than CMU's top-rated commit (Leon Page - their lone 3-star).
If Bonamengo is able to get Poljan, that will be an impressive get for them.. regardless of the relationship there.

CMU fans should be feeling the desperation creeping in. Bonamego held last year's class together (which is commendable), but got few (if any) of his own recruits. And they so far have only 9 commits in the 2016 class, none of them highly rated or holding many offers.

It seems I pissed off the local troll on the CMU board, so in the interest of pissing off chimps, I will expound on my thoughts.
CMU's 2016 class as of 3 Jan 2016:
QB Tommy Lazzaro
Offers (minus CMU obviously): none
DE Leon Page
Offers: Purdue, Ball State, Bowling Green, Buffalo, Eastern Michigan, Miami (OH), Kent State
RB Kumehnnu Gwilly
Offers: none
RB Jonathan Ward
Offers: none
QB Austin Hergott
Offers: none
DE Josh Eldridge
Offers: none
DB Jakkar Jackson
Offers: Ball State, Kent State, Toledo
LB Hunter Buczkowski
Offers: none
WR Tee'Ondre Harvey
Offers: none
That's it? Am I supposed to be impressed? 2 recruits with other FBS offers. 1 P5 offer among the whole group...from Purdue. Not a single head-to-head recruiting victory against WMU. 2 quarterbacks and not a single offensive linemen or tight end? "o-line U" indeed...
Your class is weaksauce and you know it.

I laugh at their claim to be "O-Line U."
None of the coaches who recruited, or coached, Joe Staley or Eric Fisher, or any other CMU lineman who played in the NFL, remains on the CMU's current coaching staff.
Kinda like taking credit for PAST championships THIS coaching staff had NOTHING to do with.
Fools and frauds.

Our current long-snapper had more P5 offers than their whole 2016 class does combined. Serious.

Several of our current commits individually have more offers than their entire class does.

And after 3-4 consecutive signing classes like this, it's starting to show on the field.

Yes it would. If we can get 1 more guy for this class, I would like to see a big, strong NG/DT that can control the middle of the line. It's a position where we consistently lack size and depth. It should help that Winston is eligible next year, though.

Doesn't appear Watts is getting a lot of attention. Perhaps the parting had more to do with other factors......grades, attitude, buy in, or lack of.

It could be one of those things, but he holds offers from half the B1G, so he must be doing something right.

I concur. A 2-point win at your place against us in the third year of Coach ShamWow's reign (and the first year under Bono for us), coupled with a 1-win difference in overall record sure is telling.
Now, can you tell us all again how "coaching is overrated in football," child?
Thanks.

I know it's rough for you right now with your alma mater falling behind their rival and your adopted bandwagon team getting totally exposed in the playoff, but lashing out is unbecoming of you.
