A quick look at the Broncos 2016 ooc opponents rosters.
Taking a look at the 2015 rosters of our 2016 ooc opponents.

Northwestern is losing 8 seniors on offense, 4 starters and three wide receivers iin their two deep depth chart. 7 on defense, 6 starters. 3 on special teams including both punt returners.

Will have Illinois and Georgia Southern momentarily.

I want to see a Georgia Southern beat down. Get them down and don't let up. Payback.

So let it be written, so let it be done.

I want to see a sweep of the Pig 10. With the amount of starters not returning for Georgia Southern I like our chances against them too.

Georgia Southern also loses almost their entire coaching staff. It will be a favorable time to hit them with everything we've got.

FWIW we aren't losing any QB's, RB's, or WR's that played an important role in our game. Only replacing 2 on the OL. So our entire offense is basically returning.

Defense is a different story, we will be young at DB and Safety. DL and LB's will continue to be solid though.

One of Athlon's top returning players is on our schedule this year.

40. Anthony Walker, LB, Northwestern- Is Walker one of the nation’s most underrated players? We think so. In 13 games last season, Walker recorded 122 tackles (20.5 for a loss), four sacks and one forced fumble. - See more at: http://athlonsports.com/college-football...2FIbw.dpuf

I think that's what a bride says on her wedding night. Whether it's part of the vows, or to be said in regards to the festivities at the Motel 6 afterwards, I do not know. :)

I'd like that too, but the realistic part of me is certainly not expecting that to happen. Illinois (Cubit) is going to have it's sights set on beating us, not just because they're a sub-par P5 trying to get over that hump who takes good G5s seriously, but, well, the Cubit factor, that's why. Northwestern is more likely to look us over a bit, but despite not having as good a year (on paper) as this past year, by default, they're going to be better than Illinois -- and both games are on the road. But we Should have a decent shot at beating one of them, that's for sure.

Not sure if this was mentioned elsewhere, but we are playing NC Central for our FCS.

I hadn't seen that yet. Thanks for posting.

NC Central went 8-3 last year, but plays in a dismal conference. 4 teams in the MEAC only had 1 win.

Should be a bloodbath.

Sidenote: I'm happy we're playing someone new, instead of Murray or Nicholls again...

Wow! If you look at their 2015 schedule they started their season with a 72-0 win over St. Augustine and followed that up with a 0-55 loss to Duke and a 14-39 loss to Florida International. But they finished with a 8-3 record 7-1 in conference play.

Fun fact: We'll be playing 3 "Eagles" teams next season.

RE: A quick look at the Broncos 2016 ooc opponents rosters.
NCCU STATS:

2015 [8-3]:
- Lost to P5 Duke (8-5): 55-0 [QB: 132 yards, 13/29, OTD OINT; RUSH: 2.0 yards a carry] [D: Gave up 655 yards, 4.9 yards a carry]
- Lost to G5 FIU (5-7): 39-14 [QB: 209 yards, 18/36, 0TD 3INT; RUSH: 1.7 yards a carry] [D: Gave up 470 yards, 5.2 yards a carry]
- Lost to Bethane-Cook (9-2): 28-26 [Shows they're a good FCS]
- 4W in 1 possession games - including close win against #13/#16 NC A&T State [Inter-State Rivalry I'm Sure]
- 3W in "easy wins" against fellow 1-10 FCS teams [Won by 17, 33, and 35]
- 1W against D2 team 72-0

2014 [7-5]:
- Lost to G5 E-Carolina (8-5): 52-7 [QB: 104 yards, 13/22, OTD, OINT; RUSH: 2.3 yards a carry] [D: Gave up 582 yards, 7.4 yards a carry]
- Lost to FCS/G5 Charlotte (5-6): 40-28 [QB: 354 yards, 30/47, 2TD, 1INT; RUSH: 2.0 yards a carry; 420 yards total] [D: Gave up 443 yards, 6.1 yards a carry]
- 2 Losses to FCSs, 1 by 1pt, 1 by 2TDs to #20 Bethane-Cook
- 3W in 1 possession games - including win against #24 NC A&T State
- 3W in solid or "easy wins" against FCS teams [8-4 by 14pts; 0-12 by 28pts; 3-9 by 34pts]
- 1W against D2 team 34-7

IMO -- shouldn't be any tougher than Murray State. Could be easier... depending on whether they're on their way up or down.

In regards to NCCU, living in the area I can say if this isn't an easy win (as easy as any win is anyway) there is something wrong. The team they beat 72-0 was god-awful and (no joke) would likely lose to some of the better high school teams in the state. The loss to Duke and other local teams also didn't get as out of hand as they could have because backups got a lot of PT. The HBCU teams in this area are just not very good right now.

You can't look past anyone, and on any given Saturday....but the biggest aspect of this game should be playing crisp and staying healthy.

Maybe Brieda will be gone by next year?

I think we buy out the Georgia Southern game this upcoming season.

You hear this from somewhere would be weird for a home team to buy out of a game.

Buy out? With what money? What are we replacing it with?
