American Football Finish 2015
This is how I predicted the conference to finish. I was a bit off....
East Division
1. CINCINNATI (11-1)
2. Central Florida (9-3)
3. Temple (8-4)
4. East Carolina (7-5)
5. South Florida (3-8)
6. Connecticut (1-11)
West Division
1. Memphis (11-1)
2. Navy (8-4)
3. Houston (7-5)
4. Tulane (3-9)
5. Tulsa (3-9)
6. SMU (0-12)
Here are the 2015 Final Standings
East Division
1. *#Temple 10-3
2. #South Florida 8-4
3. #Cincinnati 7-5
4. #Connecticut 6-6
5. East Carolina 5-7
6. Central Florida 0-12
West Division
1. $*#Houston 12-1
2. #Navy 10-2
3. #Memphis 9-3
4. #Tulsa 6-6
5. Tulane 3-9
6. SMU 2-10
$ = Conference Champion
* = Division Champion
# = Bowl eligible
Temple proved they had a good team. Beating teams I did not think they would be able to go toe to toe with. A little more offensive talent, they may be the American Champion. Not looking forward to play Temple in future.
South Florida got it rolling the last few weeks. Willie Taggart has the bus heading the right direction. Good to see the Bulls winning again.
Cincinnati got Tubervilled. Injuries to key players on defense, and a turnover prone offense spelled disaster.
Connecticut figured out how to win some games, and now Diaco has something to build on. The East is going to be a gauntlet next year.
East Carolina too many holes to fill. They will be back next year, and I also do not look forward to playing them.
Central Florida WTF
Houston, all I can say is I am impressed. Congrats.
Navy played better than any of us could imagine. Reynolds is the real deal, and the AAC defenses hated the triple option. When you play the Midshipmen you have to play all 60 minutes.
Memphis a great season, but I am left with questions of what if. A lot of questions to go into the off season. It will be interesting to see what happens.
Tulsa bowl eligible, building in the right direction.
Tulane the only prediction I got right. Not enough horses, will they ever get going in the right direction in New Orleans?
SMU two wins, thought they would respond a little better to the new coaching staff. Maybe they need a complete rebuild.
I can't wait until 2016 to see what happens. I predict Temple vs Houston again in the championship game.

We had a lot of dysfunction we don't know about behind the scenes. This was not an 0 and 12 team.

I had 10-2 Cincinnati playing Memphis in the CCG with the Bearcats taking it. Glad I don't try to predict games for a living...or for some funds on the side anyway.

Should have bought Tulsa/UCONN and sold UCF/Cincinnati. Hindsight is 20/20...

I had UCF/Cincy and Houston/Navy. Nailed the West, was way off on the East. I didn't believe the Temple hype, but was proven wrong.

next year will be interesting....i feel Houston is lock for atleast 8 wins with a few tossup games..beyond that the entire league is a toss up...
our "bad" teams should be tons better...our good teams outside of houston take some steps back...

I also think it will be the reverse of this year. Houston will be in control of the West (like Temple in the East this past year), while the East will become the new gauntlet.

Naw the West is still the gauntlet. East will just be a little more competitive with the West.

I think something to keep in mind about Navy is now that they are in a conference with a set group of opponents each year the coaches will be better prepared for their offense. I’m not saying Navy will take a step back as much as I feel like the teams in the West will take a step closer to them.
Prior to this season with Navy playing as an independent coaches spent a week maybe two preparing for their offense. Now the coaches knowing they will face it every season (for a while anyway, as long as their coach stays) it will become part of their regular game planning.

You mean like the fourth place East team beating the first place West team.

I had Houston/Cincy in the title game. Difference between the 2, Houston +17 turnover margin, UC -16.
Example game at Houston Gunner threw a pick 6 and Tion fumbled near the goal line attempting to score a TD.
I also predicted, after the Ville game, Houston would get 12 wins.

This is a very very astute take. UH's DC Orlando had the Cougars working on the triple option almost daily in the August timeframe. It paid off in late November, but even UH had its hands full with it despite the special prep.
Expect most of the AAC coaches will do similarly next year.

*because uconn was scoring so much points with your starting qb
it doesnt go both ways...uconn was a defensive team that has struggled to score points all season, losing your qb isnt the same as a team that averages 44points a game losing their starting qb, a qb who leads the league in total tds, & leads his team in both rushing and passing and on EVERY national offensive award watchlist
you and i both know this games goes completely different if ward plays
we are 12-0 with him, 0-1 without
and sidenote is that boyle is your #2 qb, postma was our #3 qb (backup lost for the season during game 5) and you also knocked out our top rb and we were forced into our 3rd string rb (backup rb was injured a few games before)
a better equivalent for uconn would be if uconn had lost its top 5 defensive players including Fatukasi, Summers, Adams & Campenni

Take the loss like a man. UCONN played better (specifically the defense) and deserved the win. Both teams were down multiple players. Get off your Houston high-horse...

no one is denying uconn completely shut down our 3rd string qb... like i said uconn's strength (the defense ) was in full force, and postma couldnt get anything on them at all
with that said we had way more injuries, you beat a team on its 3rd string qb, 3rd string rb, and 3 freshmen oline, 2 of which started the year as DTs (becuase we had lost 5 Oline throughout the year)..and not even mentioning one of the freshmen oline sprained his ankle midway in the game (marcus oliver) but we had no choice but to leave him in because we had no one left
I normally dont even sweat our oline issues most game. uconn destroyed our OLine but everyone has done it all year, with playing so many freshmen/injuries. the difference is ward is faster than everyone on the field and doesnt need a "good" oline to function and postma was a pocket qb who isnt anywhere as elusive as ward to create his own time to make the offense work
but in the end no need to debate, uconn and houston basically return a ton, if you believe uconn is just that much better you'll be able to win with ward next year, with essentially the same players on both teams returning but (knock on wood) with everyone being healthy
