Bowl game attendances
I'm wondering what you guys think the attendances will look like for all four bowl games.

Realistically, I think we take 10-15,000. Loser Tech will bring 15-18,000. Local and freebies will be 5,000.
Potential for 38,000.

That wouldn't be too bad hopefully yall will break 40k. Obviously the app Ohio should sellout but what about the other two?

I don't expect many in Orlando. I doubt many in the city even know there is a game tomorrow, and San Jose certainly isn't traveling.
Go Daddy usually always has a very good local turnout. I think the question is will there be enough Georgia Southern fans that when all the locals leave at halftime that the place doesn't look deserted. That's the key.

App sold out their full allotment of tickets and then some. I bought mine last night through the bowl website and it was slim pickings, so I'm hoping we see a good crowd in Montgomery.

The date will really hurt the GS attendance in Mobile. I know many people here in Statesboro, myself included, that were ready to go to any of the bowls on the 19th but will not be going to Mobile on the 23rd. Family Christmas considerations seem to be the most common reason.

How far of a drive is it to Mobile from the Statesboro region? GoDaddy got screwed on the date and time for sure. I do like watching football on the 23rd but it would be better to put one of the games like Bahamas bowl, Hawaii bowl, etc. The ones that don't really count on attendance.

Georgia Southern fans should get a pass on this bowl, 2 days before Christmas, and they are calling for rain during the game. I think it will be interesting to see actual tickets sold vs people who actually attend the game, got the feeling reading some messages that a lot of GS fans bought tickets, but then donated them.

Bowl game attendances
If you get a game that's drivable I don't think you get a pass. It's not ideal, but it's doable, especially considering the excitement of it being a first.

If Ga Southern fans do not show up in large numbers in Mobile for their first ever Bowl Game on National TV, that will send a very negative message about their fanbase.

No it sends a very negative message about ESPN and bowl scheduling. The 23rd is ridiculous.

It's like getting a puppy for Christmas, it's fun but comes with responsibilities. Future bowl committees will not care what day it was or what the weather was like they will only look at the numbers.

Was told this morning App ended up selling 7,000. This doesn't include those that bought general admission.

7,000 is more than we could have hoped for when we got our bid, really shows future bowl reps that our fan base travels well.

We brought 48k plus on December 22nd...you want to go to the bowl game or not? You could make it back to Australia for Christmas Day playing on the 23rd.

It doesn't work that way sadly. Bowls all understand that dates can be screwy. They will be looking for fan bases who will travel despite the date.
Will it hurt tremendously? No.
