He had American and "Don't Tread on Me" flags in his truck and cut a donut in the student union grass.

Now that the danger has passed, when I first read the title I figured you guys had finally signed a decent point guard.

Apparently a former ASU-Newport truck driving student who was injured in an accident in 2013 and blamed a Federal Judge, Arkansas State, Social Security Administration, Dept. of Labor, and others for his travails.

He said in Facebook post tgat he was homicidal and suicidal.

I can see why the cops didn't shoot first tonight. He had covered his vehicle with gasoline, and had 2 propane tanks in the back. One shot could have set off a pretty big explosion.

Law enforcement did an awesome job handling this threat and the active shooter procedures in place by the university prevented anyone from being injured. It's terrifying when something like this happens, especially when you have friends and family on campus, but it's comforting to know that there is a very effective active shooter procedure in place.

They found out the tank was almost empty. Of course that wasn't known at the time.

First and foremost, I'm glad no one was hurt.
As harsh as it sounds, this was a good exercise in dealing with this type of situation. Now we'll be a bit more prepared if (God forbid) it were to happen again.

I would hope they are routinely going through drills for this type of attack. This type of crap doesn't appear to be going away.
