RE: Come on cougar high, you are embarrassing the AAC here
This thread was started by a Memphis fan (Bathtub Gin) that has been worried about conference realignment (i.e. the Big 12) and has been posting over there about it.

Really, these pissing contests should be moved to the smack board.

Get over it already. We were announcing to the fans that we suddenly had another ~3000 tickets available. There was nothing malicious about it. Sorry the truth hurt so bad.

As the truth will this time.

Make no mistake; the prices are dropping due to Houston. FSU will have a HUGE turnout with Atlanta being 4.5 hours away. Expectation is that Houston will struggle.

There is no excuse with a 3 week's notice. It's disappointing that we are already hearing the excuses. It's 800 miles folks!

But what can you expect when you can't sell-out a 40K stadium for a championship game without the opponent's support.

Based on what I'm seeing, I'll set the O/U on Houston fans at 6K.

There was never any question that FSU would outdraw UH, perhaps as much as 3:1.

We will sell out our allotment, and that's all I'm really concerned about.

I could give less of crap that FSU fans are disappointed with the matchup and killing ticket prices with their lack of enthusiasm.

I would be disappointed if they weren't disappointed with the matchup.

It makes it more fun to win the thing. The reason why the Boise brand picked up momentum is due to that attitude from the other side. Making them "Giant Killers"

Really?

I guess UCF fans developed an acceptance and ease with lying/different version of the truth.... during all those years under O'Leary:

"On Sunday, UCF announced it had sold 5,000 tickets, less than one-third of its 17,500 ticket it is required to purchase for the bowl game. The UCF figure includes band members and player and team compensatory tickets — meaning fewer than 5,000 tickets have been sold."

Source: http://mweb.cbssports.com/ncaaf/eye-on-c...-allotment

Now I understand that many UCF fans bought tix through ticket brokers at better pricing and seating...but it wasn't that much more.

Dang! Caught in my act again with those dang statistics! Too bad the visual evidence tells a different story... I guess I'll just erase this from my memory and defer to you.

Don't Watch This If You Want Your Reality Disrupted

I'm willing to bet there are more in that stadium rooting for UCF than USF averaged in attendance last year, announced or actual.

Sorry ...not watching 30 minutes video to "verify" your claim that UCF travelled so well that nobody now questions your travel numbers. You make it sound like you had 20,000 to 30,000 in attendance...gotcha.

we havent struggled to sell any tickets yet, we'll start of there
they just started selling yesterday

read the article, there is ZERO Evidence the source of the ticket price is based on houston
I did read the article and fully believe that the issue is overblown and Houston is unfairly being made a scapegoat.........just like last week's attack on Temple was. Hence, my comparing the 2 discussions.

It's going to help Houston that there are so many direct flights out of their airports. That's not the case for FSU fans, who will have to connect in most cases or drive to a large airport.

....all pettiness aside, we shouldn't bash any fanbase for not paying top dollar for crappy seats and over a thousand dollars for a family of four to travel across the country during the holiday season to watch a glorified exhibition game. This game is meaningless for FSU and for Houston winning the AAC is much more important.

IMO they should incorporate the former BCS bowl game venues as part of an expanded playoff system. If that happens...all of the sudden not only does FSU care deeply about playing Houston but so does whole college football as well.

Next time Houston fans want to pump your chest at the expense of another team, you better have your own Sh*t together. Not selling out a home CG and not supporting the singular G5 bowl game, is ... well, pretty much putting you on equal footing with most of the other AAC teams. No better, no worse. So you had a nice season, you have a very good team, but get off your holier than thou attitude.

No offense here we had 37k in attendance we gave Temple 3k allotment. Do the math. Understand it's a long trek to Houston for Temple fan, but they had it right for the seating allotment for the visiting team. Sold 50 tickets! C'mon man.

RE: Come on cougar high, you are embarrassing the AAC here
and in Other news im ready to throw stones back at temple fans...temple fans lets do this

i just checked stubphub...on the best season in temple history in a half century, the bowl tickets are selling for $15 dollars (second lowest bowl ticket prices) in a stadium that seats 45% of the Georgia dome ..and it is not projected to sell out or close

note that the bowl that is cheaper (and a second that is the same price as temple) are in way bigger stadiums

i'm amped up now to troll temple fans..you chose this path
