That is still wrong. Lorenzen & Vaughn would wipe the floor clean with Lawson.

Ever see either of those 2 LEAD a fast break and dish off or drop in a finger roll? I watched every game they played and didn't. Were they better?: yes but both were different type players.

When did you play on the same court as the Lawsons?

Um, pretty easy to see how they play when there's Youtube. Plus, I can view their stats and i've now seen two of the brothers' every collegiate game. Have you ever sat on the bench and watched as Penny dropped a double nickle on your team, with 25+ rebounds, more than 10 steals and almost as many assists...and all as the point guard? I have.

Some of us "old timers" have been around a long time and know a thing or two. You'd be wise to pay attention.

LOL! Love Penny but he never had 25 rebounds or 10 steals in a single game in his career. Don't think he had 20 rebounds.

Look at the bright side. At least we're not 2-4 Wichita State.

A lot of the one's that gave up their tickets want Gregg Marshall as our coach. They would be the ones calling for his head right now at 2-4.

He is certainly playing more under control and doing a much better job with shot selection. I think he will continue to improve and "loosen up" some as the season goes on and be a really solid player by the end of the year.

Dominic Woodson is the most skilled big man over 6'10" we've recruited in 20 years.

It's funy how quickly people forget Kareem Cooper.

Shawn Taggart as well.

I keep wanting to say David Vaughn and Lorenzen Wright but then I do the math and then I feel old.

Penny not only was not HS age, he was a prop 48 and much more mature when he started.

But even with that, hopefully people can appreciate a great young talent and not build him up as Penny only to then crap on him if he does not happen to be as good as arguably the best player we have ever had.

Not suggesting the op was doing that, but some will.

Yes, it is a shame so many turned their backs on our basketball team. Of course there are reasons, yet it is still a shame.

Great points. Penny was WAY older when he finally put on a Tiger uni. As Prop 48 it's sad we didn't get to see EP and Penny on the court together. Elliott's senior year would have been really special.

Dedrik though has really impressed me too. I have to say it but I also believe he has a shot to be as good as Penny. Way more upside than Shawne.

I love his game and he is Silky Smooooooth

Marshall has built up a tad bit of good will. I'm sure he can weather this storm out til the end of the season. They've had a pretty legit OOC schedule so far and VanVleet has not played much.

Whoa, whoa, whoa...comparing Lawson to Penny?

Get out of here.

Hey cowboy, don't you think you should attend a game or two before offering any opinion?

Note one: Lawson is barely 18; Penny was a 20-year soph before he ever set foot on the floor

Note two: this kid--while he doesn't have Penny's periphery game--looks to have Tyreke's drive thru the lane skills

INCREDIBLE rebounder

And he delivers at least 2-3 "gimmes" to Shaq per game

And he has time to work on open court; he does handle the ball very well and improving every time on the floor

The trajectory is one and done. At 18

Not you but to the Anti-Pastners: you need to quit showing your a$$ and put it in the seats

Elsewise: do yourselves and the program a service and just shut up

Wow the Pastner apologists are willing to trash even Penny now. At least we know we can't trash Hank doe

That was too easy

I am not saying he would not make us a good coach when and if we replace Pastner. All I am saying most of the posters here would be calling for his head. He is 2-4 and was beaten by Tulsa by 10 and Iowa by 23. Plus he has lost 3 in a row.

"That was too easy".

RE: Basketball Team
Calling for Greg Marshall's head after 6 games? Tiger fans put up with this same stuff for 6 YEARS before it came to this.

But when they want to be heard, it would be wise for the PTB to listen. Didn't get the message 3,000 down last year? Let's try 10,000 down this year and see if that gets anyone's attention.

And D. Lawson is, indeed, a special player. Still way too early to say how things will go with him. Banks started out on fire. Let's give the kid a year and see how he impacts things. Who knows -- if he's all that, maybe he can be responsible for two coaches being here next year.

THIS.

Reminds me more of a CDR. But he is noticably the best player on the floor and both teams know it.

Well, it's only Marshall's fault he didn't recruit these guys. Just using MTO logic here.
