Tulane should beat Memphis to the punch and take Dino Babers off the board. Use the MAC title game as a podium for the announcement.
Rumors about Kendall Briles are re-heating up.
According to semi-reliable/reliable sources, the following is true:
1. The AD and HC is going to be a package deal. The AD candidates were probably asked to line up a future HC ahead of time.
2. Multiple private planes have been scheduled between Waco, TX and NOLA. This is not normal or usual activity.
3. A Tulane poster on our local board has met with a company that sets up press conferences for Tulane University. The company projects that this decision will be made either today or Thursday.
4. A few LSU fan locals (read: people in the area that are somewhat ITK and have NO rooting Tulane interest) are convinced that they're going to hire the "kid from Baylor".
I would be shocked if it's not Patulski + K. Briles. Both hires are EXTREMELY risky, but it does show that Tulane will leave the "old way" behind. Things over the past 24 months have really changed at this school.
I think Aresco told them that they had to behave like a normal good FBS program as a condition of joining the AAC. Tulane wouldn't move like this without some sort of motivation.
Gonna be tough on the new ad to have to fire his friend in 3 years.

See my more recent thread. Tulane didn't go to Baylor OR to the Cowen pick. It's something totally different.
