I am happy for him. Hopefully he will be able to earn a more permanent position with them by having a better year in 2016.

Illinois gets us, Murray State and UNC non-conference next season, all home. They draw scUM and MSU as crossovers, no OSU.

I think he'll have to score some transfers. He went on the record saying he had recruits lined up and the kids were waiting to see.
Be interesting to see his class, he had some good ones in the pipeline according to their fans on their board, even surprisingly to them.

Cubit is the first WMU coach to get a P5 gig (BCS, or otherwise before hand) after leaving. He made history.

Very happy for Bill!
I hope that Moreland, Schaffer, and Lester can all find jobs. They've been fired from Syracuse.

First WMU coach to get a p5 gig after leaving. Historical stuff, good for him.

Again, all class Chaz. If you want to disrespect Letterman have at it. You're big boys.
But just the other day you made an attempt to be conciliatory in your remarks directed at the Coach. I suspected you were disingenuous then and now you confirm it.
Cubit truly inherited a mess unlike Coach Fleck who had the benefit of the foundation of personnel provided on a shoe string by Cubit.
In spite of the culture of Beckman, Cubit was the counterbalance. Enough so to be fully exonerated of any wrong doing and proven to have no involvement in the cause to fire Beckman. Additionally, the players he inherited lauded his commitment and leadership.
From week one he set the tone. He didn't throw his predecessor and others under the bus but simply rolled up his sleeves getting to work. He didn't have the luxury of 1-11 season to be a crutch and an excuse.
Coach Fleck's fund raising has been outstanding. His recruiting has too adding to the foundation he inherited from Cubit. He added solid coaches to the likes of Tim McGargle (sp?) he inherited.
From your perspective why can't or won't you celebrate the success of both?

PJ Fleck inherited a 4-8 mess.
Good for Bill Cubit on the extended temporary gig.
I can't celebrate the success of both because like you said in the Cubit thread: "It's Illinois, who cares?". I was/am totally with you when you said that. I don't care about Illinois. Several posters with personal agendas do though.

What side of the ball has been the strength of the program under Coach Fleck?
The offense.
QB, LT, LG, C ('cept this year), RG who was the RT last year and the TE (now injured). Add Braverman and Haldemann to the offense and you have a pretty sound foundation.
On D you have the one who can control field position in P Schroeder. In Coach Fleck's first two years in a pass happy league you had on the backline Currie, Celiscar, Zamort and Atkins..
Are these the guys you are using to define a mess?

Thank goodness for WMU that he coached them up to their potential and not just 4 win seasons.....
Sorry, Shooter. You can sip from that Seagrams bottle and wax poetic all night, but it's all for naught.
PJ Fleck is delivering results for this program like we've never seen. This includes the first win in program history over a ranked team and back to back bowl appearances. I'll let the old timers sing Bill Cubits (average) praises.

And as usual the facts don't matter. Fine.
But in most any one else's book 1 win is still less than the 4 you clutch too.
Since I don't drink I'll assume that Seagram's is alcohol. So at least you must draw from personal experience of being in an altered state of mind. It all makes sense now.
Have a nice evening.
